Bungalows Doña Rosa

My girlfriend and I would like a refund after you charged us mistakingly after we did not receive any correspondence from your establishment. We have been in contact with *********** but they said to contact you directly for this refund

Impeccably clean bungalows with lovely staff and pool ( not heated). Convenient location to amenities. Very peaceful ambience. Would recommend for self catering in the area. Small details very well considered like multiple hooks for towels and comfy, quality and plentiful allocated and additional sun beds. Toiletries and coffee machine provided.

The good - 1. The bungalows are lovely inside, well laid out and appear to have been newly renovated. I loved the clean white decor, laminated floors and super comfortable beds - probably the most comfortable we have experienced, along with those in the Anamar Suites. 2. The staff are all fantastic and super helpful. When we lost a bag with our passports in a taxi, Omar tracked down the taxi and the bag which was returned to us within the hour. 3. Beautifully kept grounds, allocated sunbeds and lovely Balinese beds. The bad - By the end of our week's holiday I had lost my voice and ended up with a chest infection. Our bungalow was situated in a corner and after a few days every time I went in or out I immediately had coughing fits due to the occupants of the neighbouring bungalow sitting on their terrace all day every day and chain smoking. We also landed up with smokers sitting next to us one night in the Yumbo which didn't help either. I did a covid test which was negative and I had no other flu/cold symptoms so can only put it down to the thick wall of smoke in the terrace area. We were self catering and ended up having to eat inside the bungalow instead of being able to enjoy our terrace and eat al fresco. The next door occupants also had a couple of noisy parties on their terrace which doubled/tripled the smoke stench. This was against the 'respect the silence' rule. We think it was guests from other bungalows as outside visitors are also against the rules but again it made it impossible for us to quietly enjoy our own terrace of an evening. We considered asking to move bungalow but it appeared to be a problem throughout the complex with many of the other bungalow occupants also smoking heavily on their terraces. We were expecting the pools to be heated but the one at our end only had cold water coming in from the inlets and the water was cold, only bearable on the hotter days when the sun was strongest. We didn't try the pool at the other end. Overall - whilst I would rate the accommodation itself and the staff highly our stay was significantly spoilt by the chain smokers. I would strongly recommend Dona Rosa to introduce a no smoking policy area throughout the complex with just one or two designated smoking areas at the back away from other guests' terraces and entrance doors.Show less

We booked one week in November 2022. We booked and paid for a two bedroom bungalow. When we arrived they did not have one available so they put us in a studio for the first night. When we returned home we put in a claim for the difference. They refused the claim on the grounds that we should have claimed while we were there. This is a ridiculous argument. They knew they had not provided what we paid for.They should have refunded us. Nice place. Poor management.
