This is a Riu 'Palace' however it did not live up to the standards of other Riu Palaces we have stayed at. Pros: The hotel is absolutely spotless, staff are friendly and helpful (like all Riu hotels). There are free towels, free safe, mini bar stocked with soft drinks and beer. There are three bars, one at the end of the hotel where the entertainment stage is, one at the pool and another, quieter one near the restaurant. They often had a piano player or singer and this was a lovely place to spend the evening people watching. Staff were lovely too and drinks and service was excellent at this end of the hotel, it was run with precision. There were lots of places to sit around the two pools and covered areas during the day. The pools are not massive but then neither is the hotel. We rarely had to wait a long time for the lift and all rooms faced the pool. They had a balcony and somewhere to hang your wet clothes. Cons: The food was definitely NOT up to a Palace standard. There were no gluten free bread options however when I did ask the staff in the restaurant they found me some and also sought me out in the morning to see if I wanted GF toast. They DO however have lactose free milk. I'm not particularly fussy when it comes to food but there was little choice at dinner time. A Sunday roast without yorkshires (even though they were advertised) and fish balls that were still frozen in the morning. I was very disappointed with the food. There were very few Brits, this is not normally a problem for us but the other holidaymakers were just so rude to everyone. Finally, and this is the biggest complaint of all is the bedrooms. Very little storage space in the room but that I can just about cope with as there was an ironing board and iron (free) if my clothes got creased. Then there is the opaque screen between the bedroom and bathroom. If anyone dared to go to the bathroom at night and turned on the light it LIT UP THE WHOLE ROOM LIKE WEMBLY STADIUM. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to put an opaque glass wall in the bedroom, this is madness. Pack your eye masks people or take the lightbulb out of the bathroom ceiling or you will get woken up if someone goes to the bathroom.

I rate this place only 1star because the food for the all-inclusive hotel is very poor quality and not eatable. The restaurant smelled awful because the extraction system did not work. Grilled meats are so dry like grilled cartons or overcooked. The pastry section only defrosted desserts or musses extremely low quality made from the powder mix. Hot drinks are very bad quality. Cocktails are just sugar syrup and crushed ice. I found human hair on the pastry. I recommend this hotel only for a room without any food.

Currently staying here now and cannot find fault with anything! hotel is modern and clean, staff are amazing - professional and friendly. Food is great with Good choice of options. Drinks are premium and general atmosphere is lovely and relaxed - if your thinking of booking, do not hesitate as you will not be disappointed. Tip ask for high level room (7th floor) to appreciate stunning views of beach and sand dunes

We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and this has to be one of the best. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were all so helpful and friendly. Special mention to Pedro in the bar who made sure we always had a drink in front of us. Also, the reception staff deserve a special mention for being so helpful. We’ve never stayed at such a clean hotel, the rooms, pool areas and public areas were absolutely spotless. The food was very good with plenty of choices, it was always hot and, as mentioned earlier, the staff were very helpful. We particularly liked the poolside snack bar. We loved to make our own toasties at lunchtime and it was always handy for a snack with our afternoon cocktail. The room was a decent size and the beds comfortable and like the rest of the hotel it was kept immaculate by a lovely friendly maid. It could have done with a few more drawers, but we managed OK with what there was. It’s a family hotel and there were children around, who could be a little noisy at times. Our only moan about our 2-week stay was that sunbeds were reserved from very early on. There are about 20 south facing sunbeds by the second pool all of which had towels on from first thing. Some people didn’t use them until after lunch and some weren’t used all day, someone just came down late afternoon and collected the towels. We often struggled to find a sunbed in the sun when we came back from our walk. This could all be made fairer for everyone if the hotel adopted a zero-tolerance policy to reserving sun beds.

Great holiday. Quiet relaxing stay. Only issue was young German lads probably on first holiday away from parents. Hotel dealt with them by firstly addressing behaviour then calling police- all good after that. Location is excellent.

From checking in to checking out everything was perfect. The quality & range of the food & drinks was excellent. The restaurants & bars were excellently staffed. The pools were very well maintained & no issues with sun loungers (which is a very pleasant change) Would look at booking the hotel again when planning future holidays.

We had an excellent family holiday at this holiday during mid August. It really was everything we hoped it would be. The hotel is immaculately kept - super clean in absolutely all areas which was very impressive. The rooms were plenty big enough, especially as we didn’t spend much time in them! We were on floor 6 and had a fantastic view of the sea with a lovely balcony. Beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was of a high standard. Clever automatic low level lighting which meant you didn’t have to turn the main light on if you needed to use the bathroom in the night. They turned on and off automatically. Curtains made the room lovely and dark so good nights’ sleep all round. The pool area is also immaculate. Very clean around the pool and the toilets by the pool were also amazingly clean and posh! Loads of sun beds which were very comfortable. Pools were great too. The food at the hotel was absolutely excellent. There really was so much choice and this changed throughout the week. Lots of choices of salads, fish, meat, pasta, pizza as well as world cuisines. Lots of food being freshly cooked during service times. You could literally find whatever you fancied. Lots of different fruit and puddings. Excellent standard. There is a snack bar where you can get drinks and snacks through the day and the bar was great. Lots of branded drinks and a huge choice. My husband certainly loved the coffee! We didn’t really take part in the evening entertainment but there were acts every night while we were there and it was nice sitting in the lobby bar listening to the music. The staff were amazing - super attentive. Lots of different nationalities there which was really nice. The beach was only a few minutes walk away. We didn’t really go there as we were so happy chilling by the pool but there’s lots there if you want to explore. This was a fantastic holiday and we would definitely return. Outstanding hotel - thank you for making our holiday everything we wanted it to be!
