I rate this place only 1star because the food for the all-inclusive hotel is very poor quality and not eatable. The restaurant smelled awful because the extraction system did not work. Grilled meats are so dry like grilled cartons or overcooked. The pastry section only defrosted desserts or musses extremely low quality made from the powder mix. Hot drinks are very bad quality. Cocktails are just sugar syrup and crushed ice. I found human hair on the pastry. I recommend this hotel only for a room without any food.

Currently staying here now and cannot find fault with anything! hotel is modern and clean, staff are amazing - professional and friendly. Food is great with Good choice of options. Drinks are premium and general atmosphere is lovely and relaxed - if your thinking of booking, do not hesitate as you will not be disappointed. Tip ask for high level room (7th floor) to appreciate stunning views of beach and sand dunes

We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels and this has to be one of the best. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were all so helpful and friendly. Special mention to Pedro in the bar who made sure we always had a drink in front of us. Also, the reception staff deserve a special mention for being so helpful. We’ve never stayed at such a clean hotel, the rooms, pool areas and public areas were absolutely spotless. The food was very good with plenty of choices, it was always hot and, as mentioned earlier, the staff were very helpful. We particularly liked the poolside snack bar. We loved to make our own toasties at lunchtime and it was always handy for a snack with our afternoon cocktail. The room was a decent size and the beds comfortable and like the rest of the hotel it was kept immaculate by a lovely friendly maid. It could have done with a few more drawers, but we managed OK with what there was. It’s a family hotel and there were children around, who could be a little noisy at times. Our only moan about our 2-week stay was that sunbeds were reserved from very early on. There are about 20 south facing sunbeds by the second pool all of which had towels on from first thing. Some people didn’t use them until after lunch and some weren’t used all day, someone just came down late afternoon and collected the towels. We often struggled to find a sunbed in the sun when we came back from our walk. This could all be made fairer for everyone if the hotel adopted a zero-tolerance policy to reserving sun beds.

We really appreciated the friendly and professional staff at Riu Palace Palmeras – everyone was helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel is also spotlessly clean, from the rooms to the common areas, which made a great impression. However, one major downside is the sunbed situation around the pool. Guests reserve loungers early in the morning by leaving towels on them, and then disappear for hours. Meanwhile, other guests can’t use those sunbeds because they’re “taken.” This is really frustrating and unfair. Many other hotels have solved this with a simple rule – for example, removing towels from sunbeds that are left unattended for over an hour. We were surprised that Riu hasn’t implemented something similar. Also worth noting: the hotel doesn’t have direct beach access – it’s about a 10-minute walk down a slope, which might be a downside for some guests expecting a beachfront location. Overall, a nice hotel with great staff, but we hope they do something about the poolside sunbed issue soon.

We stayed here as a family of 7 in 4 rooms celebrating an 18th birthday. We had asked for a low floor room during booking but were placed on floor 5. Nothing wrong at all if you love sea views and excellent standard of rooms but I don’t use lifts so wasn’t keen on 5 flights of stairs. Reception staff were amazing and moved us to the ground floor garden rooms the very next morning despite the hotel being incredibly busy. We loved the garden view rooms, just a minute from the bar and pools. Even though they were considered a downgrade it didn’t feel like it. As you would expect from the Rui brand this hotel did all inclusive incredibly well with a 24 hour bar and very high standards of food and drink. Food was also available all day and night. Even though the hotel was full we never felt we had to reserve sun beds as these were always available and the pool areas were nicely divided into ball games and inflatables in one pool and more adult peaceful swimming in the other. These pools were warm and not too deep (1.3 metres/ 4 and half feet depth). The hotel entertainment was fun (eg Tina Turner tribute) and of good standard. We also went to the White Party at the sister hotel which was well organised and very good fun. The hotel was spotlessly clean - communal toilets and pool toilets excellent condition at all times. I would say the cleanliness of the hotel areas and rooms is exemplary. We had a fantastic week here and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This is the 4th time we have stopped at this hotel. The standard of this hotel is excellent. The beautiful grounds plus its cleanliness throughout. We had a room on the 3rd floor which was kept spotless ever day by our maid. The quality of food was excellent. We ate in the krystal a few times. We had no problem getting a booking. In the buffet there was a wide variety of food available. The mattradi Ana Lopez managed the restaurant and her staff to a high standard. A special mention to David the waiter on the outside section who knew every morning we had English breakfast tea. The quality and choice of drinks in the bars were good and the waiters were all very friendly and worked extremely hard. Victor one of the supervisors went over and above was so nice he remembered us from our previous visits. The hotel is well situated for shops bars and restaurants with easy access to the beach . There are some lovely walks nearby too. The bus service is nearby about 5 minutes walk. Las palmas is easily accessible and drops you in the centre. Playa amadores beach also. Regular service . The hotel each Friday offer a party night at its sister hotel . One week a neon party another a white party. We went on both and really enjoyed it. The hotel as said by previous reviews is very quiet and that's what we like. If you want a party and loud hotel this is not for you. Also there is nothing for kids . The night entertainment was good . The blossom ladies being the best we saw. What makes this hotel stand out from the crowd is the genuine warmth of the staff in all areas of the hotel. A special mention to David bell boy and receptionist who s knowledge was excellent was able to help us with any information we required a credit to the hotel. We have already decided to book for 2027 as love this hotel . Thank you to all the riu staff who made our 21 day holiday

Lovely small RIU, spotlessly clean. Had room with sea view on 6th floor, excellent room, cleaned every day. Food, plenty of choice for every meal, can be repetitive but big choice so not a problem. The staff and service is top notch, they can't do enough for you and are very polite and friendly. Went to the special restaurant which you can book once a week. Had the Beef Tenderloin, best piece of steak I have ever had, cooked to perfection 10/10. The only complaint i have is the beer, which i only drank at night , it's weak, gassy and instantly just fills you with wind. Definitely not a branded beer. I just like to have a nice beer whilst relaxing at night, watching the entertainment, this spoiled my enjoyment at night, had beers outside the hotel and they were on a different level to the RIU. I payed for all inclusive with branded local drinks, the beer ontap here wasn't that.
