The location is good. The hotel needs renovations. This should be a choice if you don't want to spend too much. No fridge. Just the essential, beds and bathroom.

We have been travelling through Mexico for 3 weeks and Hotel Encantada was the worst experience at all. The room was very noisy, the bus station is just across the street and the whole time we were listening to a machine announcing bus arrivals and departures. There was no balcony. The reception staff was absolutely useless, they were not able to help us, tourists, to arrange anything. Not even to advise where we can buy a bottle of water in the middle of night when we arrived. And the oxxo shop was just around the corner! On top of this all, after checking out in a hurry, I realized I forgot a shirt in our room and my friend forget her cosmetics. I immediately asked the receptionist to check and give it back to us. They asked the cleaning lady, she claimed to know nothing and find nothing. I believe I was pretty insistent and still, they did not return our stuff. So the cleaning lady or the reception staff either stole our things or threw ithem away and did not confess to either. I would NOT recommend to anyone to stay in this useless stealing place.

The apartments/hotel is split into two areas either side of a very quiet road. We booked a large double with kitchen, which was across the road from the pool which was not a problem. The room was very clean and well kept and the hotel was about 20mins walk (1.2kms) from the beach and only 200metres from the main highway if you wanted to hail a taxi. Lots of local shops and restaurants.

This review is for the restaurant and beach area (not staying in actual hotel part). We were looking for a day pass to spend at the beach where we could use the lounge chairs, shower and bathrooms (as we had checked out of our hotel and our flight wasn't until late that night). Pelicano Inn Restaurant was the perfect place as it was free to use their lounge chairs and umbrellas; they just ask each person to spend $$ on food and drinks on their property. We didn’t think we'd spend $20 USD per person but after a few tasty drinks and delicious shrimp ceviche and other foods our bills added up. The food exceeded our expectation and the staff were so accommodating. A live band came to play fir a short while in the late afternoon and after a cool DJ started spinning lounge music.
