The place was well described as in the photos, a very rustic and old place, very good to disconnect from the city and have a good atmosphere. The food was spectacular, the service was very attentive. The only drawback was that one night it rained and there was no power. But that did not prevent us from having a good night.

We are staying next door at Petit lafitte and so far have come to Cocos Cabanas twice for food. The pizza is outstanding, as was the famous spinach salad and fish tacos. Highly recommend if you are staying in the area. The atmosphere is very cozy and the host Sylvia is lovely.

So we are back at Cocos as I type this. I think this is either our 4th or possibly 5th visit since we discovered this hidden gem of a hotel/resort/restaurant . Silvia and Helmut are the most friendly gracious hosts you could ever wish to meet . The food is literally to die for , everything on the menu is beautifully made , presented and tasty. You have to try the wood fired pizzas and calzones . .Calm relaxing pool and dining area and the sandy beach is a two minute walk away . Come for lunch/dinner I guarantee you will want to stay . Well kept cabanas for your stay are more than you need . All the staff are attentive and ready to help you enjoy your stay . It has to be good if we keep coming back . Avoid the crowds and noise of the big resorts try Cocos you won’t be disappointed .

Amazing stuff and ambiance! Definitely have to try it out! Could just stay here! I never had better octopus in my life! It’s like eating in the middle of the jungle! 🥰 I’m so happy we found out about this gem 💎 After lunch/dinner you can relax in the pool or hammock!

We loved the seclusion and the uniqueness of this quaint, quiet little place. The Cabañas were very clean, comfortable beds and beautiful piece of property. Silvia and crew at the restaurant were attentive and the food was delicious. This is truly a hidden little gem and we will be back.

We were staying at The Viceroy just a few yards down the beach and made the journey a few times because it was so good. Excellent margaritas and excellent service. Good value too. The tuna tostadas were the best I’ve ever had , so fresh and amazing g flavours. They really look after you, do not miss this place.

This place is a hidden jewel!! Barret and Iliana are the most hospitable hosts and made us so welcome we were like friends after the first few days. We stayed in the cabanas…eight studio suites facing into a central courtyard and pool. Visitors quickly become friends. Grocery stores are nearby as well as shopping and the town central. Everything is within walking distance including the ocean and Malecon, a seaside walkway lined with restaurants and coffee bars. This is a place to relax and unwind. Be sure to take a tour to Coronado Island for a day out on the water sightseeing, fishing, snorkeling and swimming. We had such a wonderful time here, we will definitely be back!

We were recommended this quaint little restaurant off the beaten path in Playa Del Carmen. We arrived there and were met by Gio who showed us to our table. The setting screams Mexico. Everything was beautiful and well maintained. We ordered the pizza with the works and took no longer than 10 minutes to arrive. It was fantastic. cannot say enough about our experience at Coco's. Food was great, service was great, views are great and the price is on par with what you would normally pay elsewhere. I recommend. I took nice photos but the files are too large to upload

Cocos is a cozy oasis of comfort nestled among large resorts. One of the (many) things you won’t get at those behemoths is a live-in owner who is available to guests every day—a big plus as far as personal attention and first-class operation. The restaurant is worthy of its own review. Testimony to its high quality is daily patronage by locals who are not guests. They trek in from the surrounding area to dine at Cocos. And there are also a few refugees from the all-inclusives, who have tired of the institutional approach to food. Cocos’ wood-burning oven turns out scrumptious pizzas, as well as melt-in-your-mouth braised pork. Check out the fresh fish (both fillets or garlic-fried whole), the marinated flank steak (arrachera), and the caprese salad. Try as I did, I wasn’t able to work my way through the entire menu during my stay. All the more reason for a return visit!
