Viceroy Riviera Maya

This was such a beautiful, serene resort with impeccable service and gorgeous villas! The food is delicious, the beach is quiet, and it was the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever taken. Victor, Carlos, Pepe, William, Eduardo, Francisco, Joel, Andres, Alberto, and Eddie could not have been better - they made our experience so welcoming and incredible. Highly recommend this place!

We have recently returned from a stay at the Viceroy, between February 10th and the 17th. We are a family of four with 2 teenage children. I am giving the resort and our stay at 5* rating for the following reasons: The staff - the service and the staff at this resort were impeccable and made our stay at the Viceroy perfect. They worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was comfortable - from our butler to the staff at the restaurant and the staff serving the pool and beach area too. They were calm, polite, friendly, efficient - I cannot think of a single negative feedback to give them. What we appreciated was the small touches that made our stay so special especially when we were relaxing by the pool and beach - setting up our loungers with fresh towels; bringing us cold, wet face clothes; fresh fruit to snack on; cold water; small glasses of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks; offering to clean our sunglasses, etc. 10/10 to the staff and the service at the Viceroy. A special mention to William, Pepe, Miguel, Jose, Jesus, Rodrigo, Carlos, Cime, Fabian, and Carla. The villa - we stayed in Villa No. 1 and the accommodation was of a very high standard. They had beds set up for the kids on the ground floor upon our arrival. In addition there was ample living room space for us to move around and a separate bathroom on the ground floor. The master bedroom on the top floor was large with a big comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom and dressing room. The balcony with the hammock were also a great touch with a lovely, secluded view of the ocean. The plunge pool - this was at the back of the Villa and was a very big size for a plunge pool. The resort staff were very happy to heat this to a higher temperature upon our request which made this a great place to relax at the end of the day. The breakfast - in general the food at the restaurant was of a high quality with many menus to choose from. The resort had themed nights to give options for those eating dinner at the resort every night. Our package included breakfast and what a breakfast we had. This included many sweet and savoury main course options and sides including fresh local fruit, juices, smoothies, toast, hash browns. You name it. This was a highlight for our stay and something we still miss. The cleanliness - the staff worked tirelessly to keep the grounds clean. The pool was meticulously cleaner every morning. The entire resort is surrounded by the jungle, however there were no bugs in our room and the resort was absolutely spotless. The overall vibe - given this is a touristy area, this particular resort feels very secluded and serene - more akin to the Maldives. The grounds are surrounded by the jungle and as far as I know, there are no children under the age of 12. With a smaller number of villas the resort is quiet, calm and the pool, spa, or beach area were never busy. The perfect vibe for a relaxing break. We were sad to leave! Highly recommended The Viceroy.

From the moment we arrived until the moment my wife and I left, there was just something different and special about The Viceroy Riviera Maya . For the first time in a long time, we both felt like we were actually taking deep breaths. Our check-in staff was so kind and accommodating, our villa was unbelievably luxurious and private, the spa was amazing, and the beach staff immediately made us feel like family rather than guests. The stress of our lives quickly faded away and we found ourselves laughing and enjoying our life once again. There is a spiritualness to this place that if difficult to explain, but one that I assure you will keep us coming back again and again.

My husband and I went for a mini vacation to Mexico and chose this beautiful hotel for our stay. We are both very much impressed with this gorgeous property and how incredibly it is managed. The food was AMAZING, I’m addicted to ice cold coconut milk with lemongrass now. We are a difficult couple to accommodate as both of us have dietary restrictions but the hotel staff was patient with us and the chef was able to cook exactly what we asked. We were so pleased! Shout out to Carlos, one of the managers in the restaurant, he is a true gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Overall 5+ experience and we will be back as soon as our children get older.

We had an excellent time at Viceroy. Our butler Alberto Corona was excellent in his recommendations and all the staff there were amazing, including our new friend Luis Cabrera. Excellent amenities and great experience. 10/10 experience.

I like the Viceroy Riviera Maya so much, that I almost want a gate-keep it. If you enjoy world-class service, and world-class food, this is the place for you. Yes it comes at a price, but it is worth it. We have been five times and plan to go back many more times in the future. Even when it is busy, there are no more than 20 people or so by the pool or eating at any given time. If you like big resorts with lots of people, this is not for you. But if you like small intimate resorts with world class service, the Viceroy is the perfect place

Our stay at the Viceroy Riviera Maya was exceptional in every way. We have stayed at Maroma and Rosewood Mayakoba in the area. Viceroy stood out to us as a beautiful boutique hotel with highly personalized service. It was perfect for a 4 night getaway with my wife. The resort is quiet, private, and intimate. We were upgraded through Amex Platinum to a Viceroy suite and it had a great layout. Perfectly cleaned every day. We appreciated how great the staff was. So friendly and happy to help and going the extra mile. My wife and I went to the spa, and they actually shut down the ladies area of the spa so we could use it together! Who does that?!?! Ernesto, at the front desk, gave us his WhatsApp and we used it occasionally when we needed some things. He would come to check on us down at the pool when his day ended at 5pm to make sure we were doing well and didn’t need anything. The food was terrific at the Coral restaurant, we loved our breakfasts, our lunches, margaritas, dinners, and the Coral menu, when paired with the room service / all day menu (which you can also get poolside or Oceanside) had plenty of variety. It rained one day and our server, Pepe, carried our food out to our Oceanside palapa under a large umbrella. Lots of reviews we read say people keep coming back and we understand why. It’s a top notch facility with amazing service and great people. Big thanks to all the servers, bartenders, and staff - too many names to name here but all were terrific. We’ll be back!

Everything was excellent . Food, service and facilities. The villa is clean and beautiful. You can see monkey and raccoons around the area. Highly recommended. We enjoyed the spa and water sports. Sure will be back in vacation with Viceroy group.
