This is a fine hotel, but with some clear caveats. Okay, first. It's clean, and mostly well-maintained. This is important. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bungalows are comfortable. The food is … I'd call it British working-class. Fat, pork, fried potatoes, mayonnaise. Salads with mayonnaise. A few boring vegan options. The feeling isn't of bad quality as such, it feels, again, well-maintained and of decent quality. So if you like that kind of stodgy food, you'll probably like it. Three days in my stomach was in an uproar. After that, we stopped eating dinner at the hotel, and ate lunch very sparingly. The breakfast buffet had bread and butter, and we mostly kept it to that + some yoghurt (though no low-fat yoghurt … of course). The area is boring. The two pools are serviceable (and again, clean), but the whole hotel area as such is uninspiring. I guess that partly comes from the spread out nature of bungalows. It feels like suburbia. There is a minimal gym that works okay, but only one person at a time is allowed to use it, for some reason ("we don't like guests mixing", they said). However, at least when we were there, finding times weren't an issue. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool area, so (again perhaps based on the season) there were no issues finding a free one. There are staff everyday organising activities, like pool workouts and activities for children (like mini disco in the early evenings). That's nice, and creates an open and friendly feeling. Good. There is this weird concept of "Emblem" at this hotel, but I really don't understand it; who would pay extra money at this hotel?! Either way, it's a bit irritating, because it also makes you feel they charge you extra money for basic stuff, like a safe in the room, or extra towels for the pool area (okay, that's a deposit, actually, that they _only_ accepted cash for). Is 3 a harsh review for what is basically a good experience, and nice and attentive staff? We all rate on our own curve, and "decent" is what I would call my experience. In summary, plus for cleanliness and staff, minus for food and boring area.
