Gran Castillo Tagoro Family & Fun Playa Blanca

This hotel is excellent for families with your children. As a group of grown women, we also had a brilliant time at the hotel but it’s definitely more geared towards families. The rooms are really Spacious and the food was good. We did. Price a lack of plug sockets, especially around mirrors to do your hair and lighting around mirrors wasn’t great but not a big issue. It’s a long walk to Playa Blanca but taxi’s are around €5. So again, no big deal. We would definitely return as it’s great value for money.

Our 11 nights stay is coming to a end here at Hotel Gran Castillo Tagoro 5 stars. First impression getting off the bus was Wow looks a very nice place. But soon when down hill at check in,For a so called 5 stars hotel took ages to check in the guy on reception took five hone calls why processing us, which I thought was rude when we was new guests so 30-40 minutes late we finally got a room key. The room are very big but standard poor, the air conditioning is very dated with thermostat control on the wall which is that old you can't adjust no remote control and a waste of time for the size of the room. Very limited on plugs sockets and definitely no USD sockets. This Hotel is massive feels like three hotels into one, but when it says family and fun really means kids club everything is all kids kids! There a adult only pool only part of it gets the sun this time of year so if your not up early your getting no sun at the adult only pool. In the evening there is no where for adults only at all so you have to spend the evening with screaming running kids everywhere but very relaxing. The only bonus is the drinks are really good. The hotel has loads of space they could use for my bar areas but there not using which is a shame. Food in the restaurant was ok always something to eat just have to be careful walk about with the kids running about in there, seen afew elderly people nearly get knocked over walking back to the tables with food. The weather was fantastic couldn't ask for more for winter sunshine. So review definitely not 5 stars it's a 3 stars plus. And it's a massive kids club. Don't get me wrong I like kids but when your on holiday you don't want it all and night.

Just back from staying here. First time to lanzarote and this hotel group. Also first sun holiday for our youngest 3 children. I'll start with check in. We arrived around midnight after a 2.5hr flight delay. Thanks tui! Kids were all shattered. We walked into the hotel feeling slightly bedraggled. Kids were greated by a happy staff member who have them each a balloon. Reception staff were so nice. Told us if we were hungry we could still get some plates of food at the restaurant. Luggage was taken to room for us. We had a 2 bedroom family room and it was huge. Beds comfy. Place was spotlessly clean. We all slept amazing the whole time. We had one little blip where the twins were ill (not hotel related) but again Reception helped us with advice on getting them seen. Local medical centre in playa blanca was again fab. Super efficient and very quick. We very much enjoyed our week and are looking to go back again next year. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. Food was fab. Not the same every night and plenty to eat even for our of our "beige only food" Kids. We were all inclusive. Many pool areas which the kids all loved. They did the kids club twice, again they loved it. We went to a little local wine bar over the road while kids were there. I can recommend that too! All in all a fabulous holiday. Just back from a week's stay at the Gran Tagoro and wanted to leave an honest review for anyone thinking about going here. The hotel is absolutely brilliant! No it's not completely new and yes, if you were to examine it in fine detail you may find one or two little signs of aging, however what I'll say is this... don't go looking. Because instead what you'll find is an absolute gem of a resort where the staff work tirelessly to keep it looking spotless and to ensure everyone has the most wonderful experience. Things I loved! They cater for all; families but also adults only. You'll never be kept waiting; if they see you, they are coming to serve you. The all inclusive drinks (wine, sangria, beers, etc) are all decent quality and a special mention goes to the coffee, especially the little cups you get from the pool bar. I'm really going to miss those! There is a great selection of freshly made food, and the paella is up there with the best I've ever tasted! People dress up nicely for the restaurant, I noticed this The grounds are immaculate! There is entertainment that goes on by the poolside, we especially loved the saxophone player and the foam party! You don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a sunbed. Yes there are still people who do that, but the pool staff discourage it. There is always evening entertainment: some to suit families and some to suit people having a quiet drink on the terrace. The hotel has the most beautiful views and direct access to the promenade where you can go for a run or a walk along to the harbour. Our room looked directly on to the terrace and we loved that we could sit out on our balcony and still soak up the atmosphere. The balcony door was completely soundproof, meaning we weren't disturbed when we went to bed. Management were always visible and really cared about your experience. I could go on and on. I've seen a few people leaving negative comments on Facebook groups and I just wanted to make sure that I left my own comment to say how wonderful I found this hotel to be. From the moment we arrived and were offered a drink straight away, to the moment we checked out... it really couldn't have been better, thank you!

Nice family hotel close to lovely beach and beautiful marina. Beach outside hotel is dark sand but 10 minutes down the road there is lovely sandy beach with amazing sea water… food at hotel lovely… I would recommend for family stay. Kids clubs available my kids only did couple mostly crafts and running around playing games. Daytime entertainment mainly aqua aerobic… which was fun… Entertainment team ok but didn’t feel as much interaction and chatting to guests as at another places. On site other than bufet restaurant was Italian and dinner was lovely… you only order main of the menu starter and pudding is self service buffet. Rooms were very spacious and cleaned every day.

We stayed for 5 nights mid August and it was the first time taking our 7 year old son abroad. Jet2 We went with Jet2, both my wife and I have anxiety and our son is ASD. Never did we feel stressed or overwhelmed, there is Jet2 staff everywhere pointing you in the right direction and making sure you get to where you need to be, they were all super friendly. My son got to look in the cockpit and have a photo with the pilot too! ARRIVAL Upon arrival, the lady who checked us in was really friendly and great with our son. We are a same sex couple and wasn't made to feel uncomfortable or treated any differently. We were given welcome drinks and our son was given a balloon and made a fuss of. ROOM We were in a sea view room in the block next to the adult pool (block D) we were on the top floor (7th) which was great as we had lovely views of the adult pool at the front and the sea at the back. It did slightly overlook the back of the hotel next door but that didn't bother us as we had a free upgrade to the sea view room in the first instance anyway. The room was really spacious and had sliding doors to separate the sleeping areas. I found the sofa bed uncomfortable but my son was fine on it and said he slept well. The room was cleaned daily and towels replaced if used. Didn't have an issue with the cleaning, the cleaner would make my son's bed and tuck his Pikachu teddy into bed and fold his pjs on the pillow which was cute. My wife and I slept with spare blankets the first night and the next night when we reached in the cupboard for the blankets again, they weren't there. We thought this odd, until we climbed into bed and saw the cleaner had make up the bed with the blanket running in between the two sheets, I thought this was a lovely gesture. THE RESORT The resort is massive! However it only took us a day or so to get to grips with it and once you sussed it, it really isn't too bad. I really like that the kids areas are separated as thats where we spent most of our time. As my son is ASD the main pool was a bit much and it nice that they were far apart. The kids pool were much calmer and we always managed to find a seat or a sun lounger. We had a bit of confusion over the inflatables rule. It's fine that the rule is in place however it would be good to know about it beforehand so you can plan accordingly. One day the lifeguard said we could use the inflatables til 2:30, that's when we arrived. So, the next day after lunch we we arrived at 2 and thought we would have half an hour, however the lifeguard said inflatables were only allowed til 2! So, we didn't get to really use the inflatables, which was disappointing. If we had just know the times we couldn't have worked around it. We found the resort to be cleaned and well maintained. There is access to the beach at the back of the hotel, we found the beach bigger than the other reviews made out. You could easily spend an afternoon there swimming in the sea, playing the sand etc. THE FOOD My
