Sandos Papagayo

The hotel is in a lovely location at the end of the coastal path which takes you all the way into Playa Blanca marina and beyond. In the other direction, if you leave the hotel through the main door and head past the tennis courts through the ally, you can get to Popagayo beach in 10 mins, which is well worth a visit. Overall, I’d say the hotel is a 4 star, just about! There are parts of the hotel which are looking a little tired, including parts of our room. We were in A306 and the view from the balcony is lovely. In the bathroom, parts of the shower/bath screen was falling apart and the chrome soap dish was covered in rust and the water pressure was average at best. The flooring throughout the room was also looking a bit tired. None of it really anything to worry about, but was worth mentioning in a review. We paid the extra for Royal Elite wristbands and I would do the same should be go back. The food was good all week, lots of variations for every meal. The snack bar served the same food all day, everyday but it serves a purpose and when we did have something from there, it was all decent food. Royal Elite wristbands get brand named alcohol, a separate restaurant for breakfast and dinner plus a couple of Royal Elite bars where you access with your room key and serve yourself to all alcohol available. Entertainment was average at best, one night we had an actual band with actual instruments and they were superb. The adults only bar had a violinist, a pianist and a saxophonist and what we saw of those was superb. The heated pool was still cold, although not as cold as the rest of the pools! The spa area was ok, two of the 3 jacuzzi’s were working and both were warm. Lots of sunbeds looking a bit tired and somewhat dirty, but all fully useable. There are lots of areas to sunbathe, some much quieter than others and the adults only area is quite popular! We did the Timanfaya half day tour which was fascinating, we also did the half day Teguise Market tour and that was also excellent. We would recommend both. There is a lovely market at Playa Blanca marina on a Saturday and Wednesday, 10:00 til 14:00. Takes about 20 mins to walk along the co, dtal path and lots of places to grab coffee, ice cream, milkshakes or food dotted all around the marina. Overall, we would recommend the hotel and would go back. Value for money was good, location superb and although a bit tired in places, we had a great stay.

Stayed 20/12 to 27/12 was sort of last minute booking. Well my observations. Room was not scenic it overlooked the mountain terrain however as we never paid for view it was fine. Rooms clean and modern. Shower was over bath and bit rickety however worked. Bathroom needed a bit of overhaul in my opinion. Cleaner came in every day and was cleaned to top class. No complaints. Bit way out of playa Blanca. But we used taxi cheap to marina and main port. Pool areas at time needed a litter picker as seen lots of cups etc. one person litter picking each day would be very good. We sat on lower terraces on loungers there were two sorts to get away from wind. Pool was heated but still very chilly. Best thing about this hotel was the food. We went all inclusive. We travel abroad about 4 times per year and I have to say this was the best food we had ever had literally everything u could think of. Pool bar offered so many options instead of just a burger and chips. We did not witness entertainment as normally in bed by 9 as older travellers lol. No struggle to get a lounger any day. We have never ever returned to a hotel before however I could honestly say we would return to this one. Yea some slight niggles however a holiday for us is about hood food and can honestly say I was over impressed with the food at this hotel.

So, back after February 2023. Usually put reviews on Google but decided on TripAdvisor to widen my like for this fab hotel. On the Eastern end of playa blanca so makes it perfect for sunset. Also a fab walk over Papagayo, a naked swim is available there to cleans your mind. Hotel is so so good. Clean rooms pools and all areas Food well stocked and varied. Please don't moan its only warm, thus is natural to Equatorial dining. Plenty of salad fish chicken etc etc. All the staff work hard so please respect that. I write as a person from a major company that covered our Customer Service to ensure customer retaining. Also see my Google reviews, as been around many World places. We will yet again, be back.

This is our 4th time here but this time we brought along some friends. We had told them all about it how good it was,then i read the reviews and became a little concerned. However i had no need to worry food great staff great hotel relaxing and fun As for cleaning of sunbeds and cracked tiles See photos! Great time and our friends definately will be back

We have just returned from an enjoyable 9 night stay. We stayed all inclusive 2 adults 2 children aged 7 and 4. First off just to say we had a great time. The hotel itself is well kept and lots going for it. I recon when it first opened it would of been and absolute show stopper, as other reviews have mentioned you can see it starting to look fatigued in parts and in need of some refurbishment. The food was to a really good standard in the main restaurant particularly evening meals food was always hot and good quality. Breakfast was nice but I think not serving hash browns is a strange one and would be an easy crowd pleaser. The snack bar was again good,the only thing my kids missed was nuggets, something we’ve always had on previous all inclusive. The fusion restaurant we thought was average and preferred main. I thought the drinks were reasonable apart from the cocktails which were pretty rubbish tbh. Beer was Amstel and was good in the bars but ridiculously fizzy self pour in restaurants. Rooms could not fault and the scenery and views around the hotel were stunning. We walked to Papagayo beach one day which was a 10 minute walk away and was lovely. Animation team were really good with 2 guys really standing it out Rammi who we saw on his day off in playa Blanca town and guided us on a bus back as the taxi cue was massive what a legend he was amazing with our son Charlie. And Sofe who had just started but had an infectious energy and was great with the kids. Lastly just want to shout out the TUI rep Danni who we recognised from a few years ago and was such a great guy who couldn’t do enough to help people! We booked the ‘we love papagayo’ catamaran trip with him which although was a long day was a great day out. This hotel is a lovely hotel with some great features and some great team members. We probably wouldn’t stop here again as it’s just a bit too far out for us as we like to have a walk and mooch but can see the reason a lot of people like to revisit. Thanks Sandos Papagayo!

I have recently returned home from my holiday at Sandos Papagayo so I thought I would leave an honest review. I arrived mid afternoon on a Wednesday at the start of October. The first thing I noticed on the way to the hotel was how big and impressive the reception looks from outside including the domed roof. When walking into the spacious, clean reception area I saw Rami, Odians and Carlos in reception so rather than joining the queue of a couple of people I went to say hello to them and let them know that I was there. The check in was nice and simple, had over my passport and the hotel voucher from the travel company. A few moments later after the receptionist had confirmed that the room was ready which was a bonus as it was almost 1500 so it was not guaranteed that my room would be available then. My suitcases where loaded onto one of the trolleys and off I went to my room. As I was told that it was Oktoberfest that afternoon the suitcases were left in the room and I went to get involved in the activities for Oktoberfest. As someone who does not drink that much there was not much pressure placed on me to get involved in the drinking games so I just watched these activities. As I had a room in the B block I was reminded how beautiful the views where, on most mornings I was enjoying a coffee from the coffee machine watching the people have an early morning splash in the sea / walk on the beach and watch ferries go between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. For those people who do not like coffee there is the option of having decafe or tea to enjoy at the start of the day On most of the days I was actively involved in the activities provided by the animation team and I was amazed at how hard they worked and how they went above and beyond in making everyone feel welcomed. Even though I did not know any of the other holiday makers at the start of the holiday I felt that it was easy to make friends with them as most of the people I saw was friendly. I liked that when doing the archery or shooting there was two people doing it at the same time as it meant that the activity could be done within an hour. During the day some of my Spanish friends arrived and I had great fun in their company I was pleasantly pleased at the choice of food that was available, both at lunch time and also in the evenings, it is possible to eat beige food if I wanted and also there was an amazing choice of salads if I wanted to be healthy. Every lunch time and evening time there is the option of having roast meat, such as beef, turkey, pork, chicken. I had booked the Fusion restaurant twice, once for the Mexican and once for the Asian and this provided a nice change to the normal restaurant. As there is only a few people that can enter every 15 minutes there was never any queues when getting the food there. As I was too busy waking up slowly, I was not willing to get out of the room too early and I did not have any issue getting a sun bed around pool 2 and also noticed that
