Impeccable resort with very good food, a beautiful view of the mountains from the beach and friendly staff. HUMBERTO at the snack bar was exceptionally helpful and even arranged for me to get allergy meds from the doctor. Ask him about local activities too! He is SO HELPFUL! I will return but make sure you fly out of Trinidad airport as Santa Clara is double the distance. I sent my parents here for my mother’s 80th birthday with her friends and I stayed a week later with my children. I have travelled all over the Caribbean and you can’t beat the cleanliness and price of this hotel! Bottled water, fresh beach and room towels, food and food are always available. I will be back with more people! The beach is rocky so you must bring water shoes.

This is my second review edited. The first review I left was due to the fact the hotel was very very hard to communicate with before leaving to make arrangements . We are currently on vacation at Melia Day 3 and it is the most beautiful hotel in Cuba we have experienced so far. I had spent about 80$ CAD calling the front desk to inquire about swim up room and amenities for my 6 month old baby and about several emails to Sunwing and Melia. We got a response after many weeks right before our trip. The general manager did take care of us and upgraded our room from a deluxe to a junior suite. Since it’s our first time travelling with a young child we needed to make sure there would be enough bottled water for her formula and needed to know about amenities before hand to prepare for our trip. While we were not able to get those answers in time. We are at Melia now and there is more than enough bottled water for her and we did bring a blow up crib mattress which you will also need as they do give you a makeshift mattress but the baby just sinks into it so you will need one if bringing a baby. It is a very clean beautiful and safe hotel for children. We do recommend the swim up room if you have children it is worth the extra cost. Our biggest regret was that we were not able to find price or arrange this experience but we were given level access with upgrade bar, pool and restaurant in adults only section when we did not have baby. We have made friends with other families that got the swim up pool and visited with them it is worth the cost and ease it allows for kids and parents to swim whenever they want to near their rooms. Ivan the assistant manager was amazing and in the end we were taken care of. We would visit Melia again. We are currently on vacation and sponsored to write an article about travelling to the hotel we chose and Cuba in general with young children. I will leave link to my article when we return home with extensive review, tips and tricks explaing what was great and what wasn’t, packing list for babies and parents.

We just returned from an incredible two-week stay at the Meliá Trinidad Península Resort, and we can't say enough good things about this beautiful property! The hotel is modern, pristine, and exceptionally well-maintained, offering a luxurious and relaxing experience from start to finish. A special mention goes to Director General Manager Juan Pereira Marquez, who is truly a remarkable leader. He was friendly, approachable, and always attentive to guests' needs, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Whether it was a simple request or addressing any concerns, he handled everything with kindness and professionalism. His presence around the resort, greeting guests and making sure they had everything they needed, set the tone for an outstanding level of service. The management of this resort is truly exceptional, and the entire team reflects that. From the waitstaff to the bar and pool service, everyone was well-trained, professional, and incredibly welcoming. The restaurants served top-quality food, and the service at every level was flawless. The resort itself is beyond beautiful, located in a stunning setting and meticulously groomed and maintained. Everything was in perfect working order, making for an incredibly comfortable and stress-free stay. For those looking for an extra level of luxury and relaxation, we highly recommend The Level (Adults Only) section—it’s the perfect place to unwind in paradise. Thank you to Juan Pereira Marquez and his amazing team for making our vacation unforgettable! We highly recommend this resort and cannot wait to return!

What a beautiful resort. We have been to Cuba many times and this is by far the nicest place we have stayed. It must be noted however that there isn’t the white sand beach you have on the north shore of the island. You need water shoes as it is old reef as you go in the water. However, snorkelling just off shore is amazing and you can access a natural pool with sandy bottom close by at another resort. The service everywhere is exceptional. We travelled as a couple but met up with other friends part way through our stay. Reserving the a la carte restaurants could have been challenging but we were always able to make a reservation with eight of us. One evening, we mistakenly thought our reservation was half an hour after the actual time and we were unable to go to the Japanese restaurant. It was one person in our group’s birthday so we asked Ivan, the food services manager, if he could fit us in last minute somewhere and he was able to accommodate us in a private room in the Mediterranean restaurant where we were exceptionally taken care of by Léonel (mi amor) which saved the evening for us and in fact made it more special for the birthday celebration. Everyone was attentive and wonderful to us. I was continually impressed by the professionalism by all the staff. We borrowed bicycles and rode to the playa ancon and the marina and to La Boca. We loved this location because you can leave the resort area and see real parts of Cuba. We also went into Trinidad for a couple of hours. It is easy by bus or taxi and has some beautiful architecture to see. It is a long way from the airports nearby. Cienfuegos is closest but still a couple of hours. We flew in to Santa Clara and it was 2.5 hours through the mountains to get to Trinidad which was beautiful to see a part of Cuba we hadn’t in the past.
