We stayed here with 3 children in August and overall had an a great experience. The room was lovely and spacious, very clean and well equipped. We had an upper floor two bed suite which had some great views. There was some development going on adjacent to the hotel but work had stopped over the summer and it didn’t detract from our experience. The pool was great and a good size for the premises and kept very clean. Plenty of big comfortable sun loungers. It was a short walk to town that had lots of great restaurants down a hill. Free parking and though it would have been fine without a car it was a good base to explore further afield and I guess we might have got a bit bored without this option. Would recommend.

This was our second trip to Platanias and Minoa Palace. First visit was one week 2021 after COVID. Now we come back but for two weeks to celebrate my 70th anniversary and enjoying great Minoa Palace hospitality again. This time we had room facing the mountain and that area was very peaceful and we did not found any disturbances. Breakfast was good and lot of choices to eat Cretan food. We booked Full Board again with lunch and dinner included. Food was good in every restaurants. Personnel in beach bar were really nice and some of them remember Mr. Aperol from 2021. Good drinks and excelente Charma beer. Pool area is nice and we found sun beds easily every morning. Pool water was quite cold (not heated pool). Minoa team remember my special day with Delux breakfast and great cake. Cons: Smoking in Italian restaurant was not denied from some customers and eating in cigarette smoke around you is not nice. We moved other end of the restaurant to finish our lunch. More discipline for smoking is needed. I hope that one day Minoa Palace could advertise itself as a ”smoking not permitted in pool area, or vicinity policy” Ultra Plan for drinks was very expensive compared 2021. 700 euros for 2 person in two weeks time. If you are drinking much it might be ok, but for us mainly beer lover that amount meas 10 beers a day 5.50€ each, and it is much to drink. If we come back one day we will skip Ultra Plan extras. Do we win or lose in this, who knows. Meaby Ultra Mini plan ? Beer and limonade only or such ? Anyway overall experiences was good and Minoa Palace will get ****** from us.
