This is an amazing hotel! it's was the best stop on our trip this week. We only had 2 days here but completely fell in love with the island and the hotel. Perfect location outside of town was 10 minute taxi trip into town. The beach was beautiful and only a few steps from the hotel and you had a member of staff to help take any bar orders. The food was great quality and fresh. The staff were brilliant so friendly, approachable and helpful. The hotel room was beautiful simplictic but calming and very clean. We really hope to come back here at some point.

Stay somewhere else. We just stayed there for 3 nights because it was highly listed on the recommended lists. What they don’t tell you in those lists are the details. I give this property a 2 star rating strictly because the property is just beautiful and rates a 4/5. But while the rooms are beautiful they lack the luxury items that should come at the price you pay for staying there. The rooms lack place to put your luggage (no tacks provided), the toiletry products are basic not luxury company such as Diptique. It says your breakfast is included and it is but it is truly just basic - there is no breakfast buffet - you choose one item and they bring it to you and not always at the same time. Service is slow, coffee gets cold, nothing is in synch. Breakfast starts at 8 am because there is no one who shows up for work till then. Lunch options are good. Service is really poor - there was no one at the reception when we arrived and when we were leaving. They had to call someone to show up. Reception area is bare. Receptionists are not very welcoming nor are the owners who see you but do not say hello. They really do not know the meaning of hospitality here. Parking is available but tight and it is advisable to not to bring a larger car as you will not be able to park in those spots. Overall I do not recommend this place based on any selection criteria. Rating (based on scale of 5) 2 Overall Value for Money. 1 Room. 4 Food. 1 breakfast. 1 Lunch. 3 Service. 2 Recommend. NO Stay somewhere else - no need to pay these prices and fall below expectations in all categories.

Naxos is one of the more chill islands, and the Ammothines was a perfect place for our honeymoon stay. The facilities are new -- they opened in 2021, but the views, services, and location are wonderful if you want to wind down and relax as part of a trip to Greece. Odysseas was friendly even before I arrived. He helped setup transport from the airport, which in important because there are no Ubers on Naxos. Prearranged travel or car rental is the way to go. All the guests get a welcome drink when they arrive, and he let us check in a bit early and check out a bit late, which we appreciated. Their breakfast options are also very solid, and included, and they have beach chairs that are attached to the hotel but require a $5-per-person-per-day rental, but they are well worth it. Also, their poolside beds are really fun. In addition to standard beach chairs, they have what I can only describe as beach-mattresses that are so soft and waterproof that they lend themselves to a nice nap post meal or a swim. It's a family-run business and it really felt that way. We felt extremely welcomed and valued, and I would love to come back here someday. The grounds are very pretty with flowers and shrubbery everywhere.

I am writing this review before even leaving the island of Naxos. My wife and I are fairly experienced travelers and we found our way to Ammothines towards the end of our ~17 day honeymoon tour of Italy and Greece. As we’re sitting here waiting for our ferry to our final location, we find ourselves regretting that we didn’t spend more of our vacation at Ammothines. When you visit Ammothines, expect to immediately be blown away by the elegance of the property, nestled into the eastern beachfront of Naxos with a sweeping vista of the Aegean Sea and neighboring islands. You will be greeted by some of the kindest staff you can imagine—Seriously, we wanted to hug everyone by the end of our stay. As we settled in and had a few conversations, we learned that we were staying in a hand-crafted, family owned, family operated luxury hotel, which made us appreciate the elegance and detail even more. The father and son (General Manager) of the family who own Ammothines are engineers, and they constructed every fine detail of this property by hand—from the beautiful marble light fixtures carefully placed around the property, the marble hand rails on display front and center of every suite’s balcony, the exquisite woodwork that perfectly compliments the rest of the warm and welcoming color palate—all built by hand. We felt like we were staying in an art exhibit. The very impressive detail goes beyond the design—the restaurant and kitchen staff were extremely friendly and the drinks and food were made with great attention and care. I was sitting on my balcony one evening and noticed the restaurant manager (sister of the GM) walk outside with scissors to snip fresh ingredients right from their beautiful landscape. They also grow grapes on their property that they make into traditional homemade Greek wine, which I highly recommend trying! The rooms were well kept with punctual housekeeping (managed by the mother of the GM), granting their guests the liberty to leave for the day worry free, and come back to fresh linens and a clean room. After a while, we recognized the same staff returning daily, passionately pouring their heart and souls into accommodating their guests, (and yes, this includes the owners). This hotel and staff epitomize the hardworking, hospitable, and proud Greek culture, and I’d recommend paying this magical place a visit. Us Americans can learn a thing or two from them. tldr; if you were to ask me to describe the perfect hotel in the perfect location with the perfect staff, my description would not have been nearly as perfect as Ammothines.

American tourists. We stayed here for 4 days with our three high school and college age children. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this family owned hotel. The location is perfect — right on the beach and 3 miles from town. Enjoy the morning breeze off the water and the sounds of the waves crashing from the steps of your suite. The hotel is close enough to visit the old town for dinner or shopping yet far enough away for those seeking some peace and quiet. There are also a number of excellent (beach side) restaurants, bars and gelato within walking distance of the hotel. The beach is a true gem and the best in Naxos. The hotel facilities were lovely - clean and tastefully decorated. The gardens surrounding the property are beautiful and the outdoor pool and restaurant are a wonderful place to grab breakfast in the AM. The staff is amazing and very friendly.

This Hotel by far is not wroth the 400 euro a night it is asking. The rooms are white and stark, bare and no soul. The staff is not friendly if you have an issue for anything as we did. They charge you for refills in your room. The sun beds are 35 euro a day, They never came to bring us menu for lunch or even offer us to lay the towels, since its all do it yourself when you pick up your towel at the pool. The pool has no big umbrellas to protect you from the scorching sun at 38 degree, and when it gets to windy they have to close them... so you need an SPF 100. The food at the restaurant is not great, and they dont come around the pool to ask you if you would like to have a drink. Beware if you bring a guest they will be charged 45 euro for the sun bed. The hotel is far from the main restaurants on Plaka beach, and 35 min from the main town. For a hotel that claims to be in the luxury industry they are by far poor with service . My advise, I have be to Naxos several times and I would not recommend this hotel at that price. Honest advice.

An incredibly beautiful hotel ... very modern with great designs. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome and were attentive to all our our needs. The beach is just across a small dirt road giving easy access to the beautiful waters of Plaka Beach. The location of the hotel is such that you are away from crowds but have access to local restaurants, etc.

This hotel was a slice of perfection right off of the beach. It is a new hotel and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Each morning we had a big breakfast prepared by Margherita that was phenomenal and we could see the water from our table. The rooms were lovely. The cabanas by the beach were comfortable and easily accessible. Anastasia checked on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed to spark joy. The hotel itself was great but coupled with the staff makes this place unforgettable. This hotel is quite special for all the right reasons.
