Spark by Hilton Wilkes-Barre

Do not stay at this hotel. I recently spent one night here while visiting family, and they charged me $200 days after I checked out because they claimed I stole a blanket from the room. I have been a Hilton PLATINUM member for 20 years, staying at Intercontinentals all over the world. Why in the world would I come to Wilkes-Barre to this no-name CHEAP hotel and steal such a gross used item as a blanket. I attempted to rectify the situation with the front desk manager with no resolution. His response merely was that they were a brand new hotel and had pictures, indicating inventory. He also claimed that they had tried to contact me multiple times via phone, though no number is listed on my account. I requested proof of pictures to be emailed to me, and was then hung up on. I immediately called Hilton corporate, who spoke to the same manager on my behalf. I was then told he would drop the charge from $200 to $100! I found that highly insulting and very fishy. I'm currently disputing the charge with my credit card company. Needless to say, I will never stay there ever, I will stick to QUALITY hotels. PLEASE check your invoices and credit card statements, as I'm sure this was not the first time something like this occurred.

We booked this as a birthday trip for myself so my daughter and I could go swimming and I could enjoy the hot tub. Unfortunately, upon arrival there is a sign on the desk that the pool, spa and fitness center are closed until further notice. We also wanted to have a nice breakfast in the morning before coming home, however that too turned into a brown bag breakfast. This place is not worth your money. The bed was not comfortable. I had to ask for linens for my daughter's pull-out bed and the front desk staff was extremely rude. Not to mention he said he was the manager too. It was a non-refundable room so I was unfortunately stuck and could not rent another room somewhere else because I had already paid for this trash hole. Our room door did not fully close unless we slammed it. The elevator was part of the blankets. The window sills of our room were covered in dust. There was a ton of construction noise. And we unfortunately had a great view of the highway with lots of traffic noise.

Reservation rejected because my wife’s name was listed. She speaks for me and I for her. No previous hotel chain has done this

Need sturdier knives and forks Real creamer not powered junk Regular napkins, not cocktail napkins Paper cups with lids

The hotel is old. The continental breakfast is waffles, cereal, oatmeal and bagels. The pool is old. The paint is chipping. The spa was closed. The housekeeping only takes out the trash and restocking. They don’t do bed or sweep/vacuum. Front desk staff is mostly away. Not the place you will like to go for a family vacation.

Not worth the cost. Internet is basically worthless, amenities are not maintained (hot tub broken, pool closed, gym was a treadmill and 2 dumbbells)
