Château de Saint Loup

Experience a Thousand Year castle for a night! This is a unique property of world class historical importance. It does not need to be compared with “ordinary hotel accommodation”. It should be promoted as being a genuine “experience” not just a room for the night.

A unique experience staying in a chateau. The host was very accommodating and a huge help when we had vehicle issues. Highly recommend!

There are not enough good things to say! This was the most magical stay we’ve had. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and kind, and funny! We stayed in the yellow room , which was very dreamy with an incredible bathtub! The next morning we woke up and toured the grounds as well as a quick tour through the renovations of the main chateau. Overall, cannot recommend enough. We can’t wait to come back and see the progress!

Passionate about period residences, we chose this castle for a two-day stay. Upon arrival, however, we were told that for us there was no place inside the castle, and they accompanied us to a building annexed to the property. If they had informed us at the time of booking, we would have looked for another accommodation. So, instead, by giving up the stay we would have also lost all the money. It must be said that on the weekend and in a pleasant resort thousands of kilometres from home, with children in tow, we had no choice but to accept or obtorto collo. Thus, we were assigned a large room, in which hygiene and cleanliness were decidedly scarce. No service, the room was not made up, no TV or other amenities. The stay turned out to be decidedly expensive. The courtesy of the innkeeper is of little use if you then sell something different from what you bought, and for the same price. We found dirt in the bed between the mattress and the four-poster cabinet. Who knows how long they haven't got their hands on it. A negative experience during a trip in which we stayed in a dozen castles. The tree-lined path is positive. In any case, it is personal opinion that similar structures are not suitable for housing for figures over € 200 per night as required in this case.

La vie de château! Absolutely adored staying at this castle. Would love to return to get the opportunity to stay in all the rooms!

Historic Dream Retreat If you want to fall in love with the history of France I cannot think of anywhere more perfect than Château de Saint Loup. When you walk through the gates and over the moat you leave the modern world behind and are living in the properties glorious past, from the Medieval tower to the 17th century chateau. The owners are a delight and will spoil you with private tours, plenty of solitude and clean impeccably decorated rooms. Château de Saint Loup is a retreat for your soul and it’s amazing to see the dedication that the owners have been putting into the restoration for the last 30 years. Smell the blooms in the orangerie, peak into the dovecote, and stroll down to a romantic pavilion along the waters edge. Go ahead, treat yourself.
