From the moment we arrived to the time we left Turtle Inn was a fabulous experience. Their incredibly friendly and personable staff went above and beyond in everything they did and were very helpful. Our Seafront Cottage was comfortable, spacious and exquisitely decorated. The food and drink choices were wonderful with a nice variety and there were multiple excursions to choose from. Not to be missed is the half-day snorkeling to Laughing Bird Caye with fellow travelers and Javier and the Sunset Cruise in the Dolce Vita. We loved everything about this charming, idyllic resort and will surely be back!

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Turtle Inn and we look forward to returning. This property is a true luxury boutique with beautiful and private accommodations, well manicured but not overly “done” grounds, and a warm and friendly staff including Abraham and Melvina at the front desk who proactively checked in on us all week. Resort food can get old, but not here. Everything we ate was delicious and all cocktails fresh and made with care by our man Joseph! It’s not a lot of 5* resorts that have their own chicken coop next to a wood-fired pizza oven… Don’t miss a trip to the spa - my essential oil massage was a mix of Thai and Swedish delivered expertly by Jun (who worked at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok for 12 years). Splurge for the 90 minute - you will not regret it. While the resort is certainly kid-friendly, the main pool is not huge and the beach has a retaining wall so I would plan some excursions if traveling with kids. This is not a waterslide spot nor is it a beach spot - it feels more like staying at a chic friend’s house. We used the complimentary evening shuttle to get into Placencia for dinner and loved every meal we ate. July is low season so we walked in everywhere but I would highly recommend reservations in high season. Fly Maya Air if possible, their terminal at PLJ is way nicer than the Tropic Air terminal. We absolutely loved our time here - it was a great value and both Turtle Inn and Placencia retain a lot of rustic charm that’s difficult to find these days.
