Ray Caye Island Resort

Our 5 star experience at Ray Caye Island Resort⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed 5 days and 4 nights in celebration of our Silver Anniversary & birthdays. A postcard perfect, private paradise. We were welcomed immediately with tasty tropical drinks and a tour of the incredible island. We stayed in bungalow #20, 1 of their 2 honeymoon suites. Our accommodations were clean, cozy and comfortable. We were mesmerized with the amazing view out our patio along with an infinity pool. Scenery that we could have stared at all day long. The room was well equipped with a king bed, ceiling fan, a/c and a large bathroom. There was also a side patio complete with a hammock fit for 2! The meals…OMG, the meals were gourmet!!! We read a review warning that there was only 1 restaurant on the island so our choices would be limited. Yes, there is only 1 restaurant currently on the island but it’s all you would need. Their breakfast & lunch menu is the same daily with plenty of selections. We tried something different every day. Dinner menu varied every night. The food was so flavorful and always creatively presented. All menu items are made from scratch including their delicious bread! They maintain an impressive organic garden on the island where much of the vegetables and herbs are grown and used. Their drink menu was vast. Especially loved their refreshingly yummy signature mixed drinks. We opted to include the private, romantic beach dinner for two on the occasion of our 25th anniversary. The amiable staff executed this so well. If you’re looking for adventure, the resort offers plenty of excursions. Our purpose was to pretty much chill the whole trip but we did go out on the Silk Caye snorkel. Highly recommend this excursion. I enjoyed the snorkeling but decided to stay on the boat while my husband & dive master Bryan swam with the sharks. Bryan and Captain Sydney were wonderful guides. There is also the famous Ray Caye water slide that was a fun bonus! There is much to be admired on this picturesque island but the most impressive thing about our stay was the first class treatment from all the staff. Always a warm smile to greet you wherever you were on the island. The service was especially superb in the Lionfish Grill daily from Noe, Pablo, Morris & Franklin. Warm, welcoming and always accommodating. They always had our table romantically set for two with a view at each meal. Thank you Ray Caye resort for this very impressive introduction to beautiful Belize. We hope to be back some day!

My family stayed at Ray Caye in early March 2025. Everything about the resort exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly welcoming and warm. The Lionfish Grill absolutely blew us away. The food was super tasty, the menu had variety, and the service was a genuine pleasure. Our room (we stayed in an Oceanfront Villa) was spectacular. But you come to Ray Caye for the water adventure, and it did not disappoint. We did five dives over two days (including a night dive) and saw absolutely everything (eels, turtles, rays, grouper, barracuda, lobster). Even the snorkeling around Silk Cayes between dives was filled with eagle rays, sting rays, and loggerhead turtles. The underwater highlight was the nurse sharks that followed us around during the dives like puppies, hoping to snack on lionfish. Because the Caye is only 10 minutes from the barrier reef we could finish up a two-tank dive by lunch and have the afternoon to enjoy fishing, kayaking, and sailing around the island. The staff are laid back and make it easy to enjoy yourself at whatever pace you choose. This place is truly magical.

Fabulous get away! The staff are friendly and doting, the food was delicious, there are private little beaches all around the island, plus a fun water slide in to the Caribbean Sea! Complimentary use of the paddle boards, Hobie cat, and kayaks! They have lots of scuba, snorkeling or fishing tours available. A perfect combination of high end resort and mellow island vibes. And did I mention the sunsets?

We finally got the opportunity to stay at Ray Caye and it was the perfect getaway. We live in Belize but were treated with the same great service as anyone else on the island. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very nicely decorated and clean with comfy beds, cool AC and hot showers. The grounds were beautiful and well kept by the staff. There is two beautiful pools to enjoy. My 12 year old daughter loved the water slide off the south dock. The food at the lionfish grill was so good and the second night we speared a grouper which they cooked up for us and did a perfect job incorporating the fish into their dinner special. We would definitely come back for a visit and break from our busy work schedule running our dive shop in Hopkins.

My husband and I had a great time at Ray Caye. The island is magical, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Ocean water is warm even in December, and the reef is stunning. Food was great too, esp fish dishes for dinner! WiFi could be a bit more consistent, and I was surprised not to be able to find any espresso-based drinks on the island. Other than these small things, our stay was incredible!

We went back to Ray Caye Resort a year later and it was just as great. So great we moored off the resort for two nights and enjoyed the amenities. Some of our crew booked one of their scuba outings and had a great time even though they hadn't dove in many years. Food and drinks were delicious and there was a good selection available, even with very few guests during the off season. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Snorkeling right off the boat was very nice.
