We have first learned about Turtle Inn back in 2015, when visiting Coppola’s winery in California and his wine bar Zoetrope in San Francisco. We have been finally able to visit, while vacationing in Belize for the 3rd time and first time in Placencia. This resort is top notch and one of the best places I have ever stayed at The resort is beautiful and clean, with two pools, spa, several restaurants and bars, wine cellar, beach, and dive center. There are 26 dwellings/cottages, offering beach, pool, or garden view. We have opted for garden pool view cottage, located directly next to adults only triangle pool, mainly of the location and because the cottage offers A/C while oceanview cottages don’t. The food is amazing, best one we have had in Belize. They bring in fresh seafood every day, and fresh vegetables and herbs are delivered from organic garden on site. Even simple dish taste fresh and special. The Pizzeria, that is tucked away in the middle of the organic garden, offers fresh pizza, salads, and appetizers every day. We loved the casual yet classy atmosphere. Laubes kitchen offers authentic Belizean cousine, fresh fish with coconut rice and tasty veggies. Gaugin grill is set on the beach in a private section of the resort and features fresh seafood and delicious appetizers. Mare is the main restaurant on site that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is set next to the White Skip bar and the Wine cellar. We had some tasty meals there, including grilled red snapper, snook or handmade pasta. The beach bar offers same menu as Mare for lunch with addition of tasty cocktails. And of course, you can sample any Coppola wines at all restaurants and bars. The service at the resort is top notch. Ir shows that everyone loves their job, are dedicated, and showcase polite and friendly service. Everybody is so nice and pleasant to talk to. Special thanks to Alex, Oscar, Jessie, Ronnie, and many others for making our stay super memorable. I must mention that during our stay, we have booked wine tasting, that had to be cancelled last minute and as an apology we were gifted bottle of Director’s Cut Pinot Noir that we have enjoyed during our last dinner at Mare. This was a pleasant surprise and shows how much the staff value customer service. I recommend peeking into the Wine cellar as it is beautiful and impressive. Our stay was uneventful, relaxing and relaxing. Visiting this place is a must when in Belize, I know we will be back soon!
