This is a nice old hotel that reminds you of yesteryear. The front desk folks were awesome, as well as the bar staff. The location is great if you’re okay with a short walk to the Pirates ballpark or Market Square. Restaurants just outside the door. My issue with this place which is why I rated it average was the maid service….or better stated, the lack of maid service. This is not one of those places where they only come by every other day. Check in is day 1, on day 2 I get to my room that evening and it was not made up, called the desk and they offered to send someone up and said they comp some Bonvoy points. I was tired and passed on anyone coming up that hour. She said she leave a note for housekeeping. Day 3, again no room service…called and talked with the same lady, she said she comp some more points, and ensure the housekeeping manager was made aware. Again I was too tired for anyone to come up that evening. Day 4 yup you guessed it, no room service…once again I was told I’d get comped a few more points. And thus time the on duty housekeeping manager and two housekeepers came by…I needed towels and smelly trash removed. The manager said she wanted to make it up to me and said she’d send up a couple beers. No beer showed up, another empty promise. In total I was comped just 500 points. I expected at least 500 for each occurrence. I’m going to notify Marriott of my disappointment. Human error happens, it how the establishment responds and resolves those errors that really count.

Location was great. Hotel was nice and clean. Service was better than good. Strange layout for a hotel. I was quoted one night for $112 by Trip.com and yet was billed $161. How does that work?

I've stayed here more than a dozen times, and this hotel has a lot going for it: friendly staff, great location, cool building, nice gym and amenities, it's absolutely failed in one area each and every single time: housekeeping. Whoever is in charge of the housekeeping here needs to be replaced. The biggest problem is them just ignoring you. I've gone out for the whole day, just to come back to an untouched room - there's even times where I've asked, even begged at times, for them to clean my room, only to come back to dirty towels on the floor and an unmade bed every time. They simply refuse to do to it, despite promising me to my face that they would. I don't think I've ever come back to my room and it was made up. It's almost like housekeeping here is completely non-existent. Here are some more housekeeping failures: - I've checked into a room before, only to find a bunch of dirty towels from the previous guest hanging on the back of the door and on the bathroom floor. - The supplied body wash and shampoo is almost always empty. - I asked for an extra blanket, only for housekeeping to tell me: no, they don't do that. - I've asked for my towels to be refreshed while out, only to come back to a pile of new towels on the floor inside my room. - The bathroom showers are not thoroughly cleaned, and a lot of times, pretty gross. - They never refill the coffee or the cups. (I'm not kidding, I bring my own cup and pods now). A hotel charging upwards of $500 a night should not have these issues. For that, I expect my bed made and new towels daily. Is that too much to ask for? At the Industrialist, it absolutely seems to be. Whoever is in charge of housekeeping sucks big time. I'm sure they'll post the usual: thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll do better. But I can promise you they won't. I've been told that by the hotel in person, many times, only to have them fail the very same day. Also, just want to point out, as much as I despise the lack of housekeeping here, the attached bar, staff, and location make me put up with it. They do great, but their housekeeping is horrible.

My wife, adult son, and I booked a week at this hotel. We chose this hotel based on the location for events we were to attend in the strip area. We booked a king with a fold out sofa and the room had enough room for the 3 of us. The check in is one flight up from street level which is something we are not used to. We figured it out and it wasn't a problem after that. Upon check in we were informed we were allowed one maid service for the week. We picked Saturday thinking this would work as it was half way through our stay but the front desk person informed us they don't do maid service on the week end (not true because we saw cleaning staff working on the week end cleaning rooms). We picked Friday and upon returning on Friday found that the room was not serviced. We pilled our used towels in the corner of the bathroom thinking we would have fresh with the maid service. My wife had to go down to the front desk and to secure fresh towels. We had one soap bar and two small bottles of shampoo for the week. We were able to secure more from one of the maid carts in the hall with the maids approval. Our bathroom shower had a half glass partition with the other half open. The shower leaked significantly and we had to mop up the water every time we showered from the floor so we wouldn't fall. The hotel advertises valet parking. Not true. We could tell the covered garage was set up for valet parking as they could park cars end to end but when they did away with the valet they lost at least half of their covered parking spots. The upper level is accessed from the back alley with a very tight turning radius. Really tight. There is an uncovered overflow lot across the street but unloading in a rain storm sucks. We were charged $19 per day plus tax for the parking. The Steelers were in town that Sunday so the hotel was pretty crowded for the weekend (breakfast and parking). Breakfast was included with our stay and consisted of frozen eggs, potatoes, and sausage every day which was heated in the oven and brought out in large pans. The eggs were like rubber, the potatoes bland, but the sausage was ok. There are muffins, bagels, fruits, and oatmeal in a big pot. My friend who was staying here also in a separate room said the oatmeal tasted like paste. She said her shower also leaked. We were awakened at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday of our stay by the fire alarm. We were told to vacate the hotel asap. Scary to say the least but it was just heavy smoke from a room the floor below us from a pot of food left on the stover overnight. I commend the hotel for having this alarm system and evacuation plan in place. The next morning we were awakened at 0700 by jack hammers outside on the street below. Really, 0700? Not much of a view either. The hotel has a lot of things going for it...great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean public areas...but needs improve a number of areas and not cut corners at the expense of their guest.

I need a lost and found email address in the hotel. When I found something missing, I called the hotel several times. A lady left her email address, but after sending it twice, there has been no reply. I hope they can provide an official email address. I want to try and see if I can find it.

I booked this for a business trip, out of convenience to be able to walk to my office. Facilities were decent. I did not interact with hotel staff very much, but those interactions were pleasant. Room itself felt a bit dated, but served its purpose.

We asked for city view and our room was on the 20th floor. Gorgeous view! The room was clean, everything we needed was provided at a reasonable price. The pool on the 4th floor with a view of the iconic yellow bridge was fantastic. Every staff member we spoke with was friendly and helpful, with great pointers for restaurants. The next time we go to Pittsburgh we will be staying here again.

WWENLUThe location is particularly good. If the weather is good, I feel that I can walk to most places. I can go straight to lyft and get cheap. Pittsburgh has bad traffic. In this place, it is more worry-free to drive others than to drive. I feel that the service is very good, but the first The shortcoming of the tripartite reservation is that a lot of services can't be enjoyed. If you apply for a member directly, you will have more free services. If you go online, you only have free low-speed traffic. If you are at high speed, you can reduce 10 knives, which is 5 knives per day. Not expensive! The lobby is really good! There is a free apple at the front desk and a variety of fruit soaking water every day! The room is a bit small, the air conditioning is very good, the water pressure is also very good, the bed is very comfortable! But Ctrip is really cheap, and the US website has a tax of more than 10%!

GGuest UserThis is the second time I review this Hampton. Same good expereince. Same clean, specious room. Same good breakfast. Same free parking (the only hotel offer safe, free downtown hotel parking). No complain. Although it is not new and flashy, it still worth the high price! Just like to offer some tips: 1. Book way early, better price. (pay a little more to get free cancelation benefit, it will still cheaper than booking close to stay date.) Also this place sold out fast. 2. The rooms are big. Easily and comfortably fit 5-6 adults. (just one bathroom though) This is good if you have big family. 3. Download the Hilton App to see if you can check in earlier (via the app) and pick your room. Use your phone as room key. Need not check in with front desk. (We still went to front desk later, to get the key cards though, becauce all my family members are adults and like to have their own key, to get in/out as they wish. Only one phone can be used as room key, unless all are hilton honor members. )

JJohnE1963Good stay with wonderful and attentive front desk personnel, was marred only by a couple of maintenance issues in our room and an unfortunate false alarm fire evacuation causing a 18-floor stairwell walk-down we felt for days afterward. Obviously, this was not the hotel's fault. Otherwise, this is an excellent property, ideally located for our purposes (visiting Heinz Hall) and we would certainly return.

GGuest UserAmerican breakfast, rooms are good, facility evaluation is generally no parking space, there is not even a parking space when driving to the gate, if you can’t park, put down your luggage first, you need to walk at least 5 minutes to the special parking building to park, 28 dollars a day at your own expense!

MMike DStayed here for 2 nights with our 2 teens. Loved the location. Easy walking to everything including PNC Park where we caught a Pirates game. The hotel is in the historic Oliver Building in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Room was big with separate living room that included a pullout couch. Great breakfast included plus the usual Embassy Suites happy hour. Had an issue our first night with the a/c. Woke up at 4:30am and the room was warm. Thermostat was reading 79 in the room even though the air was set to 68. Front desk was super helpful and polite. They sent an engineer up within 5 minutes and he remedied the situation. The room was cool again within 20 minutes and no more issues. We parked upon our arrival across the street in the municipal parking garage under Mellon Square and didn’t move the car until we departed for home. The fee was $20 per day. Valet Parking is also offered by the hotel. I would highly recommend staying at this Embassy Suites and will definitely book here again whenever we return to Pittsburgh.

Although this hotel is inn, but the price is a bit high, the room on the first day roared loudly on the 11th floor, this sound can not imagine the sound of the roar with earplugs, the next day asked to change Room, the front desk staff had a woman's face stinking, changed to the 6th floor roaring, no air conditioning sound is still very loud, but in the acceptable range, the restaurant is close to the theater store, the location is in Pittsburgh It’s the city center, where the residents are still very simple, and there are not many Asians.

GGuest UserWe met our kids there for the Elton John concert at PNC Park . I booked a year in advance at Cambria Downtown thinking it was close but far enough away fro immediate crowds. I’ll address the negatives immediately, but continue reading because it has a good end. Thank you I usually choose a hotel that has an indoor heated pool , a hot tub is a bonus , Cambria had both! Next is as mentioned above , location , close but not in the thick of things, Parking availability is important so our car can be left at hotel without concern, again Cambria met my criteria , things are good so far . Now , Upon arrival to Hotel there was much construction building and road so getting there was confusing , once we pull on to the Drop off area , their parking lot was closed and being maintained, we were instructed to use the parking lot up the road and tell the attendant that we were hotel guests , well that didn’t matter at all it was still 6.50 to park , the attendant was only there til 3 , so the parking lot was ‘open air ‘ no security, no responsibility on their behalf. Next we try to get checked in … cannot til 4 , no exceptions , so we hung around the lobby , bar was not open so no food or beverage available. We check out where the pool is see the hot tub , things look alright , 4 o’clock comes we check in get settled decide to go for a swim , the pool was freezing ( not even 70 degree) and the whirlpool/ hot tub had not been working for about two weeks. YES WE UNDERSTAND things happen beyond our control , but our expectations had been crushed and would have never happened if these issues were mentioned on the Hotel Site or the Booking sites , plus I’m signed up for text and emails , but no mention of the construction, the parking, or hot tub malfunction. Just communicated to us prior to our visit . Now transportation becomes an issue because we are no longer in a designated Hotel parking area. Cabs are not readily available as you may think, the Hotel stated it offered shuttle service within a 3mile radius , turns out that there’s only ONE GUY who doesn’t come on til 1-2 O’clock in the afternoon. NOW for the GOOD STUFF. The immediate folks that we interacted with couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating! JOHN the one shuttle driver was SUPER NICE , SO POLITE, communication was key , JOHN was WONDERFUL! He was a key part to turning our stay around to be greater than expected . Also OSCAR was head of food and beverage , he too was very accommodating offered to drive us around in between all his other duties, and Fun! A great sense of humor . Than there’s DEB the manager she was so helpful , she apologized for our inconvenience ( which wasn’t necessary) she had and employee turn up the heat in the pool since the hot tub was not working . She went above and beyond to try to make things right , and they weren’t really wrong , there was just need for better communication, in regard to the websites so that people could be informed of what was happeni
