Didn't know what to expect as only driven by on occasions. Well, there was a warm welcome on arrival and then given a room we didn't expect, The Governess's Room, although delighted with the surprise. Beautiful well decorated room and a massive luxury bathroom. I actually had a bath something I haven't done for some years - I do have showers, in case you were wondering. Lovely log fires in a well appointed comfortable lounge. Owners took time to sit with us which was a nice touch. Meals are of a high quality and service provided by Ollie n Justin who know how to interact with the customers. Chef must be well trained and each meal is a real pleasant surprise. Set in a wonderful countryside location near House of Bruar where there's always something you don't need, and sprinkled with snow and warm cosy log fires, this is a must for a relaxing break. Only negative - we couldn't stay longer.

Food very good. BUT same menu for 3 day stay. Nice log fires. BUT our room was not refreshed until 10 to 5 pm on the second day of our stay . No extras in room e.g. hairdryer, shower cap. tissues etc Good location. BUT on leaving we were charged £38 for our 'complimentary' arrival drinks. E mailed owners, no response, but it seems only good reviews welcome. Staff willing BUT need managed. At £525 a night, certainly not up to this standard.

From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and Jason (hotel manager) couldn’t have been more helpful at helping resolve a booking issue with the online 3rd party. Nothing was too much trouble and our happiness was paramount meaning that what we expected from our trip was indeed our experience. A well appointed traditional hotel with fantastic atmosphere, food and wine. During dinner service Kayleigh our waitress was very efficient and friendly. We also met the hotel owner which was lovely. The hotel is only 5 minutes from The House of Bruar which is also quite handy. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful time during our 4-nights stay in the Railway Cottages at The Old Manse of Blair. The friendly and helpful staff truly made it feel like a home away from home. Also compliments and a big thank you to the chef who adjusted the delicious menu to meet dietary requirements. We highly recommend this lovely estate and cannot wait to return next year!

Enjoyed an excellent birthday lunch at the Old Manse of Blair restaurant (between Blair Atholl and House of Bruar). Staff very friendly and welcoming with our meal served in the lovely orangey setting. All the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Wine list was comprehensive and reasonably priced. Lunch was £49 for three courses with some delightful extra entremets/amuse-bouche. I think it is expensive to stay but can recommend the lunch for a special treat.

We had the pleasure of dining here with friends recently. The food was 1st class as were the staff and the Manse itself is beautiful. The atmosphere was not stuffy at all and very casually friendly but in a very professional manner. We will certainly be back and I can’t wait! Highly recommend this lovely restaurant on every level. *****

lovely stay at the Old Manse. On arrival, it was obvious that everything was at the guests' pace, fluid and flexible. The welcome was warm, the rooms spotless (the Ministers sudy, loved the room names), and the gardens amazing. A point worthy of consideration. We checked with the hotel in advance about the sample menu." Advised that the chef was on holiday and the menu being market led could change and could not be confirmed. This sounded fair enough. On arrival, the menu hadn't changed other than a set three course meal at £75pp. However, this was also flexible. We did, however, find this to be a bit misleading. The service at dinner was first class. The presentation was perfect. The fresh produce was lovely but a bit overwhelmed by all the additional flavours. We were fortunate enough to meet several staff and family members (including Seumas and Seoras). All of them were lovely and went out of their way to make us feel relaxed and welcome. This boutique hotel doesn't give you olives with your drinks. There is no air conditioning, safe in the room, turn down service or fridge to cool your snacks. This boutique hotel provides true Scottish hospitality at its absolute best. 'S math a rinn thu.

The good - lovely room with nice furnishing. Beautiful setting , with two highland coos. Nice dining area and attentive service at breakfast. The bad - poor reception staff ( we waited 20 mins to be attended to), repeated paper work after already filling everything on line and then doing it again because they tried to give us a room which we hadn't booked. TV did not get reception on most channels. One of the skylights did not have the blind pulled, so there was no chance of a sleep in. Our room, the station house , was 5m from the mainline railway. Despite being advertised as dog friendly, dogs were not allowed in the conservatory for meals, the room had a white carpet and dogs were not allowed to be in the room while we had a meal, had to go in the car. On balance, a lovely place let down by solvable issues.
