Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Best place we stayed in during our trip in China!! The courtyard is magnificent and our room was clean and comfortable. The hosts were great. Always willing to help us in any way possible to make our stay in Pingyao even better. I would highly recommend if you're coming to Pingyao!

The biggest advantage of the hotel is that the transportation is very convenient: the first one is the problem of going back and forth to the station, because motor vehicles cannot enter the ancient city, only the cars of residents in the city can pass, so the boss asked the little brother to pick up and drop off the transportation. How did it solve the problem? The problem of coming and going. The second one is very close to the attraction. Walk about 100 meters to the left after leaving the hotel door and you will reach the pedestrian street. When you stand at the intersection of the pedestrian street, there is a city wall on one side that you can go up during the day. You can buy the pass directly here. Looking north on the city wall, South Street comes into view, full of people coming from north to south, which is very interesting! The interior of the B&B is antique, and living there feels like traveling through time and space, which is very interesting.

The inn was renovated from the 300-year-old former residence of Hou Wangbin. The current owner has a strong awareness of protecting historical buildings. The entire inn has been restored to its original state, preserving its appearance 300 years ago as much as possible. All staff members are very polite and have a strong sense of pride and belief in Pingyao and historical buildings. We were fortunate to stay here for one night and to have an intersection with the buildings that were 100 years old. I hope that the inns in Pingyao can learn more from the practices here, and on the basis of protecting historical ancient buildings, more people can witness the value of Pingyao.

Environment: The hotel is in a good location in the ancient city, near Rishengchang Ticket Office, which is convenient for dining and visiting the ancient city. The hotel is built on the basis of a 200-300-year-old house, where you can experience the old architectural culture of Shanxi. Facilities: Complete and comprehensive, especially friendly to the elderly, the bathroom has stools and barrier-free facilities, the room has a place to dry clothes, and there is a place to drink tea and take a rest in the yard, which is very humane. Service: The service of his family is worth praising, especially the meticulous service of the housekeeper. Our housekeeper Xiao Wang was thoughtful, careful, patient and enthusiastic from room booking to hotel stay to check-out, leaving us with unforgettable and beautiful memories of our Pingyao trip.

There is enough hot water for bathing and the air conditioner is good for heating. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry areas, and the shower room is large. The water you drink does not taste good, so it is recommended to bring your own. The hotel service is responsive to all requests, and there is a car to pick you up and leave the hotel. Breakfast is full, eggs come one at a time.

The location is very good, not far from Pingyao Ancient City. The hotel looks antique. Overall good. A group of 10 people traveled with the tour group, mostly friends. When booking, the tour group insisted that they could not guarantee twin rooms, only double rooms. There was no way to cancel 4 rooms and book twin rooms online. As a result, there were twin rooms in the hotel. There was a problem with the light system in the room. It seemed that it could not be turned off completely. There was no usual ”main switch” but some kind of ”sleep mode”. - -.

This is my second time in Pingyao. The room is very good and comfortable. The house smells good and there is no other peculiar smell. The courtyard is very atmospheric. Many guests who checked in that day were from Liaoning. Everyone chatted in the yard, which was very cordial. The day we checked in happened to be the second day of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The boss gave us a piece of local moon cake 🥮 and showed us the way with a map. The car couldn't drive to the scenic spot, so the boss rode an electric bike to help us carry our luggage. The next morning, we got up at more than five o'clock and left. The boss lent us an electric bike to carry our luggage 🧳. The night before, he gave us a bottle of vinegar and placed it on the windowsill outside the room where we stayed. In short, it was a very happy stay. I will definitely stay at your house next time.

We had the best stay in Jinxuan hotel! The place is really beautiful and tranquil. It is in the old city center but in a quiet part. The courtyard is magical, especially with the lanterns in the evening. Yuan and Pengpeng us feel very welcome and our stay wonderful. Yuan made the best local breakfasts and helped us with recommendations for sights to see! I would definitely come back!
