Sumus Hotel Stella and Spa 4S Adults Recommended

The hotel is spotless with brilliant staff and it situated in a good place the hikes are very good also and only a quick trip into Barcelona

This is a lovely clean hotel with helpful staff. However I have a few niggles for what is promoted as a 4 star hotel. I would say it was a good and very acceptable 3 star. Niggles: 1. In the room you are advised not to leave valuables in the room and to use the safe. The hotel charges €20 to use the safe ! I have never been charged to use the room safe before. It’s unnecessary and penny pinching. 2. It costs €15pp to use the spa/ sauna facility. It is a lovely facility. However no towels are provided for that fee or water (there was an urn of peach tea). We were advised by reception just to use our room towels. If you’re charging a fee I think the minimum you can do is provide a towel and bottle of water. 3. Breakfast drinks. Free water, juice and coffee. The juice and coffee come from vending machines. The Juice is not fresh fruit juice and tastes more like a fruit drink. I avoided. The vended coffee was dire. I drink my coffee black. And so it needs to be good quality. The breakfast coffee is awful – however the coffee from the touchscreen vending machine is marginally better than the button machine. The coffee that you pay for in the café upstairs is excellent. Lesson – free coffee dire, paid for excellent. 4. No water was supplied with the evening meal unless you paid for it – €2 for a small bottle. I appreciate this is not going to break the bank but I’d rather spend my euros on a proper dinner drink than water which is readily available. 5. If you have children, just be careful about the soundtrack at dinner time - one evening the music soundtrack included the song “this summer is going to hurt like a motherf*cker”. I kid you not - I could not believe my ears, especially as that refrain is sung over and over and over again. I did report this to reception. Also a reminder that the location of the hotel is in the town, about two blocks back from the railway line and the underpass to the beach and so the outdoor area abutts the pedestrian pavements. Overall, a good quality mid range hotel but it lacks some 4 star details.

Lovely stay here, Every member of staff were lovely, nothing to much trouble, Rooms were extremely clean, Fresh bed linen and towels Daily, Pool area cleaned each night and early morning, Buffet breakfast 10/10 Couldn’t fault our stay at all!

What a lovely hotel, not too big, it never felt crowded. Located in the centre of Pineda, 5 minutes from the beach and railway station with regular trains into Barcelona. Our room was on the first floor (overlooking the pool) was clean and comfortable, kettle with tea and coffee supplied. The balcony was big enough (table and 2 chairs) to sit and enjoy the evening sun. The air conditioning was excellent, the room always remained cool, a relief after a day in the sun. The bed was comfortable, crisp cotton sheets, plenty of storage available, my only gripe is having to pay for the safe, this should be included for all rooms in a 4* star hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the restaurant never felt too busy or crowded, there was a wide choice of cereals, fruit, pastries, pancakes alongside the usual full English offering, I especially enjoyed the cheese omelette, cooked in front of of you. We also ate in the restaurant four night of our seven for dinner, again, a wide range of Meat, fish, vegetarian options, plenty of salad, bread, starters and desserts too. The restaurant staff was courteous, efficient, plates were collected quickly and food always replenished when dishes were running low. The pool never felt over busy and opened at 9:00am daily, we never had a problem getting a sun bed. The hotel had a good mix of age groups and nationalities, and had a real relaxed vibe. I would highly recommend this hotel a little gem! I had a lovely, chilled 7 night stay.

Very comfortable hotel with cosy rooms, in a quiet place, next to the beach, with great food, staff and evening shows every night.

We have been in this hotel 03 years ago and the food was really good, this is one of the reasons we decided to go back, but this time we were very disappointed with the Food, apart of the Grill , which I want to cumpliment the Chef Carlos; the cold buffet had no taste, the salad (rucolla) was something not fresh, I could not even find sometimes fresh onions etc. The "kind" of paella/rice did not have taste at all, which is amazing for "4star S" hotel. The positive point is the room, bed is confortable; the swimpool is fine, but it should have more spots with Parasol; The Gym is also fine; the location of the hotel is a plus as well. Although the food in the restaurant is no longer good for our taste, I must say the personal is very friendly. I cannot say the same for the personal in the Bar, we found them a bit cold, I have ordered a burger, it was not cooked enough for me, I asked to cook it a little bit more and after 05 minutes, they brought it back exactly like it was, just a little bit more warm, but not cooked enough, them I gave up. The reception is friendly, personal is friendly. Would we come back? Perhaps, but we would take only breakfast .
