GreKa Ionian Suites

Lovely 10 day break at the GreKa Ionian Suites in Agia Efima staying in the Kefelonia Suite which was a second floor one bedroom appartment with wonderful sea views from its two balconies. My daughter from Auckland joined us halfway through the holiday and the appartment was plenty big enough to comfortably cater for another adult. The property is of traditional design and spotlessly clean. The bed is comfortable, the shower powerful and the air conditioning efficient and a welcome relief at the height of summer. The appartments have a good pool and sufficient sun beds for the guests . There are steps so please be aware if you have mobility issues. The host Aphrodite gave us a warm welcome and was extremely helpful and ‘ went the extra mile’ to ensure that our holiday was a special and relaxing experience. I cannot fault the host, accommodation or resort .We had a fabulous time and we will be back.

One of the best places we have stayed, the GreKa ionian suites are well positioned to explore agias efimas being just 5 minute walk to the port were there are a number of bars and restaurants to chose from. The room was spacious with a small kitchen area, wifi a comfortable bed and spotlessly clean the apartment was serviced daily. Our host Aphroditi was so welcoming and helpful with everything from transfers, car hire and recommendations where to eat she really makes the place special. We will definitely return.

Super apartments, immaculately cared for, with comfy beds too. Nice pool area, located just 5 minutes walk to the tavernas along the harbour and beyond. Lovely host Afroditi, who honestly can’t do enough for you. Organised our transfers, gave us great tips about where to eat out (all her recommendations were excellent) where to shop and so on. Loved it, we will be back. It’s rare for us to return to a place, but this quiet resort and lovely apartments tick all the boxes. Be aware there is no safe in your room, if that is a concern for you. It did not bother us.

My wife and I have just returned from a extremely enjoyable relaxing week's stay at the fabulous GreKa Ionian Suites. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the lovely Afroditi, who then spent an appreciable time illustrating on a map local restaurants and bakeries etc. In order not to repeat the same comments from previous reviews, we wholeheartedly agree with the great positive reviews from previous contributors about the GreKa Ionian property, Afroditi and Agia Efimia. Standards have most certainly been maintained and our apartment (The Kefalonia) was beautifully, clean and also spacious. From the Easterly balcony we had great views of the village, the harbour and further out to sea and the second balcony had a view of the sea and some of the pool. After eating out for our evening meal, we then thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the harbour area activity with the all the lights from tavernas etc reflecting on the water. whilst eating some of the delicious desserts or pastries from one of the bakery/patisseries. Afroditi has obviously spent a significant amount of money, on maintaining and updating for the property. One example is the addition of a lot of lovely effective decorative pebble type stones to the pool boundary wall, (and other areas) incorporating all manner of coloured ocean related pictures. One full wall of the property to the side of the pool also completely redone with thousands of the pebble stones stuck into the mortar. The whole pool area is a lovely place to be and with the bonus of more lovely new sunbeds added again this year. Like others have said, many times we the only ones at the pool, but when that was not the case it was nice to chat to the other guests. Afroditi is such a warm, kind, caring, thoughtful, generous and welcoming person, with a good sense of humour and she made such a big difference to our stay at her lovely apartments. One last mention is to the lovely cleaning lady who always greeted us with a big smile. Very much hope to be back here again Andy & Chris

This year we did something we have never done before. We returned to the same place we stayed at last year. The same room even! It was wonderful! We were greeted by Afroditi like long lost friends. Walking into the Kerkyra Suite was like going home. The place is very clean and well kept with clean sheets and towels every 3 days. The housekeeping was immaculate. Will we go again? That remains to be seen but we did meet folk in the village who were on their 4th consecutive visit. That says a lot about Agia Effimia. Enough bars and tavernas but not overly touristy. As you can tell we love it here!

This is the first time we have booked self catering accommodation. That said there was no need to self-cater as there were plenty of places within easy walking distance for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although we arrived quite late in the evening Afroditi was there to welcome us and show us our accommodation. She also made recommendations for places to eat and they were all good. The accommodation is some of the best we have encountered in Greece, particularly the bathroom which had a proper shower cubicle. There was also a pool which was clean and there were sufficient sunbeds around it. Afroditi provided us with pool towels and also arranged both of our airport transfers. Agia Efimia is a relatively quiet place but there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Our preference was for the family run establishments. We hired a car for three days of our week and having explored some of the island would recommend this. We would do so again as there are places we found we would return to and some places we didn't make it to! We have already talked about returning to this accommodation in the future. Highly recommended.
