The finish out is clean and simple yet continues to remind you that you are tucked away next to the Little Missouri River. This fully furnished cabin allows you to walk in and immediately GET LAZY! The downstairs has an open living/entertaining space with a full kitchen, dining area, and living area that stays the center of all the action. As you make your way to the back of the cabin you will find a full bath and full laundry room. At the very back of the cabin are two queen bedrooms separated from the living space so you get the rest you deserve! Upstairs is an additional queen bedroom, full bathroom, a hang out area with 1 queen fold out couch, and access to the balcony perfect for your morning coffee. As you make your way back down stairs and outside, you will find wrap around porches that lead you to the back of cabin entertaining space. This space includes a fire pit, park style charcoal grill, picnic table, and outside games. Wildlife is plentiful, it is not out of the ordinary to see deer in the yard, eagles flying over head, and trout swimming in the river! The Little Missouri River is controlled by the Hydroelectric Dam which is used to generate power. The river will rise as much as 3 feet when generating. The generation schedule is subject to change without notice to meet power demand. The huge table seats 10 people comfortably with extra seating at the kitchen bar and patio bar. The house is great for entertaining large families or a comfortable a refuge after a day at the lake! The kitchen comes fully stocked with all of the cooking necessities, just bring your own food! Crockpot, Keurig, drip coffee, baking pans, and all of the kitchen utensils are provided. Cabin 3, better known as the "big" cabin, comfortability sleeps 14 adults. There are 3 bedrooms, and a huge loft that has been made into a fourth bedroom, as well as two full baths downstairs and a half bath upstairs. There is a master suite with attached bathroom and king size bed, 1 bedroom with a single queen, 1 bedroom with two queen beds, and a loft with 3 queen beds. Cabin 3 also has a huge deck overlooking the river, fully furnished with lounge chairs for sitting in the sun, several tables, and a swing. There is also a large fire pit right off the porch to enjoy a fire after the sun goes down. It's the perfect place to pic a guitar and look at the stars!With the purchase of a fishing license, put a line in the river! Arkansas Fish and Game stock the river with trout and they are always fun to fish. Please make yourself familiar with the fishing regulations in this area, and we ask you to be responsible with our resources. The shack is comfortable, clean, and full of simple amenities, but it is not a luxurious accommodation. There is only one bed, so the shack is not suitable for families or groups. It's a great romantic spot for a couple or the lone-traveler seeking a beautiful and semi-secluded spot on the river. So, shack up at the River Shack for a few nights and discover how Shacktastic this spot on the Caddo River really is! The Caddo River is a popular kayaking and tubing river in Arkansas. In the summer, you will enjoy watching groups of people float past in the afternoon! It gets especially busy on weekends and holidays in the summer. However, weekdays and off-season days are much quieter. From October to March, you will rarely see anyone else on the river and can enjoy the water by yourselves. March through May is mostly just weekend floaters.Additional notes on seclusion: This is the only rental on the 2-acre property. There are only two neighbors in the area, and they are separated by a lot of trees so your part of the river will feel secluded and private. There is a clean ranch across the paved road that hosts beautiful Brahmas. There is no development across the river giving you more shoreline and woods to explore. You may hear a lumber processing plant across the river in the distance through the trees and occasionally kayakers will treat you to their favorite tunes as they float by. The river is usually very quiet, allowing you to be alone on the water most days between September and May. However, weekends, holidays, and warm summer days sometimes bring a lot of tubers and kayakers to the water during the day. It's usually quiet again in the evenings even on summer days.Location: The Shack is only 2 miles from Glenwood on a paved road.
