My wife and I drove to Pigeon Forge without making reservations but had planned on Valley Forge Inn. We did drive up to a couple of different hotels but one was twice the price yet only a bit more than a block away. ?? Really? We had stayed at Valley Forge Inn a couple of years ago and did the same thing- just drive and pull in and ask about rooms. Wound up on a really nice king room with a fireplace and jetted tub( during the winter so win/ win) and did not even know about the Island being basically next door to Valley Forge Inn. Cut through the back parking lots and the walk was maybe 6 minutes and that was due to the traffic that we were not on but walking through! This April 2025 trip was actually our wedding anniversary over a long weekend. We were not able to get the jetted tub room but our 2 queen beds and basic necessities supplied was just as nice. Very quiet even though we were in the area by the indoor pool and hot tub, both of which we used. It was a great 4 days of hiking at Cades Cove, shopping at the outlets, and taking in a couple of shows. We are at The Island a few times, walking each time. Thank you Valley Forge Inn for being a phenomenal bang for the buck and free breakfast with eggs and sausage, biscuits etc. Extremely clean and although they provide a smoking area, we did not have to go through or near that environment so we stayed clear of the smokers which was a huge factor in our wonderfully great stay.
