The scenery was beautiful, and the house was very clean, but it’s not very convenient for those without a car. The host was truly wonderful and enthusiastic. He kindly drove us from Pienza to the accommodation, arranged for us to rent bicycles and had them delivered to the house. When we left, the buses weren’t running, so he even helped us book a taxi, ensuring we made our train on time. It was an absolutely fantastic experience. Il paesaggio era meraviglioso e la casa era molto pulita, ma non è molto comoda per chi non ha un’auto. Il proprietario è stato davvero eccezionale e molto accogliente. Ci ha gentilmente accompagnati in auto da Pienza all’alloggio, si è occupato di noleggiarci le biciclette e di farcele consegnare direttamente in casa. Quando siamo ripartiti, gli autobus non circolavano, quindi ci ha anche aiutato a prenotare un taxi, assicurandosi che riuscissimo a prendere il treno in tempo. È stata un’esperienza davvero fantastica.

We stayed four nights at this beautiful family-run agriturismo in Montichiello and it was our favourite stay in Italy. The garden cottage was spotless, with a very comfy bed, great air conditioning, a newly renovated bathroom, and a small kitchen – perfect for preparing our own meals. We also had our own parking space on the property, which made everything even more convenient. The setting was peaceful, with only birdsong and cicadas in the background, and the village itself is incredibly charming with great restaurants and a wine bar nearby. Guido, the host, had broken his leg but was very helpful via WhatsApp, and his aunt took care of us (only in Italian!) and served homemade breakfast with delicious scrambled eggs and bacon. Since we don’t eat pastries or white bread, we missed some variety like yoghurt or fruit, but a small shop just two minutes away had what we needed. You’ll need a car – there’s no public transport – but it’s easy to explore nearby towns like Pienza and Montepulciano. We would love to return and highly recommend this peaceful and authentic Tuscan stay. We were super happy with everything. The only things we might have wished for were a bit more variety at breakfast and a couple of better knives for cooking.

Charming small Tuscan wine country village Guido and his family have a wonderful little hotel with home-style hospitality and heart.

This was one of our best places we stayed in Italy. It is a family run agriturismo, with Guido (the owner) and his Aunt running the place. The property was absolutely gorgeous, located on a hill in the tiny village of Montichiello, Tuscany. It was cold and a bit rainy during our stay so we didn't get to experience their beautiful patio located in their garden. But their house is absolutely gorgeous and the room was a nice size and very clean. Every morning, Guido's aunt made homemade pastries and bacon and eggs for the Americans! It was located in the cute village of Montichiello. Guido made us a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants in the village, which we were able to walk to, which was nice! There was also a cute wine bar close, which had great food. This property was located only a 15 minute drive from Montepulciano and Pienza and only 40 minutes to Montalcino. It was in such a great location. Guido provided us with some great villages to visit along with restaurant suggestions. I would highly recommend staying at this agriturismo and if we ever go back, we will definitely stay there! 5 stars!!
