The line between cosy and unkempt is a fine one... we were unlucky I think to have a room in the cottage as what I saw of the main house was much nicer. There was an error with our booking which the reception team would not accept and came to confront me in a pair. The manager the next day was much more helpful and did her best o rectify. The oven in the cottage was broken/not in use but it didn't matter as I wouldn't have cooked in that kitchen anyway! The main kitchen was good and there was a decent dining area with nice tables outside for good weather. There were cockroaches in our room which they seemed to know about and didn't seem to be too bothered (they did offer to spray). This was the nail in the coffin for me. Would not recommend. The whole place is very tired (the cottage anyway) and in need of some renovation. Its up for sale so perhaps this is why. Would not recommend, sorry.

Lovely old house but very cold in winter. Shower/toilet had no hand dryer, paper towels or fan. Very old bathroom. Booked a room with a bathroom shared with one other but that didn't seem to exist. Breakfast cheapest bread and not much variety of spreads. Tea bags insipid. Recommend for summer only. Rather pay only a little more and go to a motel for more comforts.

Great place to rest. Lovely people. I had a service dog. Very accommodating. Vibes positive in this place. Clean, respectful. Good times. I really enjoyed my stay. You know something is good via the vibrations. I was comfortable from getgo. Allday everyday

The hostel location is excellent being close to ferry check-in and railway station. It is only 100m away and on the main road. There are 5 and 6 bed dorms with usual squeaky bunks. Nice kitchen, dining and quiet rooms and access to front verandah and garden. Hot tub in garde Said there was "free breakfast" but never saw any. Tea and coffee available all the time. Friendly staff and a busy place.

Had jewelry stolen by room cleaner/manager then I finally got hold of the owners to be told " its budget accommodation what do you expect" better places to stay in Picton with honest workers and owners.
