Tropical Palms Resort & 4WD Hire

We had one night on Magnetic Island and wanted to see as much as possible in the time available. All the facilities you get at a fancy hotel would be wasted so we chose something basic, clean and comfortable instead - Tropical Palms fit the bill perfectly. Staff were wonderful, really friendly and accommodating. The apartment had the things we needed, comfy bed, air-con, a fridge and basic kitchenette. The decor is a little tired but for the price we paid we didn't expect more than we got.

Tropical Palms is an idyllic accommodation choice set in Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island. Picnic is quieter than the other bays, but also has the beach and hotel and dining choices just two minutes down the road. I have stayed at Palms a number of times, and our hosts Rob and Jen are lovely people who provided just the right level of helpfulness. The room, and indeed the resort itself, was spotless and with timeless tropical-themed decor and a coastal vibe. We had all the amenities needed for a self-sufficient stay: cooktop, microwave, sink, large fridge and kitchen utensils. We were in room number seven, which had a table in the courtyard at the back, as well as one inside. We were directly opposite the pool and, as we went early in the week when visitor numbers are fewer, I believe I was the only one using the pool over the three nights we were there. Getting a queen bed room with a couch was also a great idea as it gives a lovely lolling around alternative to the bed. For a hotel room there were plenty of place to perch.

Quiet and relaxing and lovely cool garden and pool area. Very friendly owners/staff thankyou for your hospitality. Tropical Palms is a short walk to Picnic Bay Hotel and jetty and the brewery and coffee shop. There are a few walking tracks close by and swimming in the enclosure.

Lovely apartment in a great location in Picnic Bay. Spotlessly clean and a good base for exploring the area. Close to the esplanade with the brewery and cafes in easy walking distance. Easy to check in and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We arrived while the office was closed already, they left us instructions, perfect start! The location is great, nice sunset at the jetty. Big room, comfortable beds, good shower and AC. The owner has a lot of recommendations around the island and mainland as well. Thank you for our pleasant stay!
