Stayed 4 nights, very comfy bed and good room, breakfast had so much choice, sausage and poached eggs perfect. Thanks to Pauline and Simon for all their help and attention. Hotel is an ideal base to explore everything in the area and only about 300 yards too town centre

Just back from a three night stay at Crossways. Very nice old building with lots of character and only 300 yards from the centre of town. Pauline and Simon are wonderful hosts, very nice comfortable room and fabulous breakfasts. Private car park too just behind their pretty little garden. Highly recommended.

Not for us!
We were disappointed with the hotel. Were given attic room up four lots of stairs. Decor very dated and mismatched. Room cold even though electric radiator provided. En suite shower very small with no heating. Bed quite firm which we found uncomfortable. On plus side bed linen very clean as were towels. Breakfast was nice and well presented although again room was cold. In fact whole building was quite cold as certainly not many radiators. We actually cut our visit short and only stayed for one night instead of the two we had planned.

Had a very excellent stay, owners were very accommodating. The breakfast was spectacular and couldn’t have been more full if I tried. The room were very well cleaned with items that complemented the Victorian building. Tea trays were friendly filled each day I stayed

We had a wonderful reception from the owner. Assisted us throughout our stay. It was lovely to open up the window and enjoy the cooling breeze after other stuffy rooms. Breakfast was a delight. Great experience and highly recommended.

If you do stay (and you should) then book direct. It's cheaper and no third parties causing confusion (we've had problems). We often visit family in the area and have tried many different places, but we will not need to try any others now. It's a lovely building, full of character with a real charm. The decorations are authentic and add to the homely welcome feel. We slept like logs on the comfy beds after busy days in the area. The breakfast is second to none and kept us going until the evening - full English (a guilty pleasure we have on our trips), cereal, fruits, yogurts, pastries, everything you could want. All cooked beautifully with a special nod to the poached eggs; Pauline did tell me how to do them (you put them in the bubble), but mine never come out as well. Free private car park, free wifi, I have paid a lot more for a lot less especially in England (we're from Toronto). It has all the little things you need. The hosts are relaxed and friendly and will do anything for you. Going above and beyond is no problem for them. A real home from home.

Such a shame lovely building and perfectly situated for pickering and surrounding area..plenty of parking. Beautifully entrance hall. Everywhere needs a update in decorations and furnishings our room had a bath with a plastic shower hose from bath taps second morning that didn't work way over priced for what you get family very pleasant just needs some money spent to bring up to standards .needs Alex the hotel make over lady to help then they may have more occupancy. So more money coming in .

Fabulous location with added car park. Hosts are lovely with great service , nothing too much trouble & the breakfast amazing, so much choice. The property is very old & this does reflect in the rooms decor but everything clean & all you need for a comfortable stay, some lovely touches. Had great nights sleep bed very comfy. There's some traffic noise so if a light sleeper may be a problem but didn't bother me. Good value. Shout out to Hiccup!
