Hotel Cosmomare

Terrible hotel in an old building with a very old and smelly elevator. The reception is on the fifth floor and there are no facilities at all. Poor breakfast and very expensive parking available on request. The worst of all is the hotel owner who sometimes come in. Not friendly and very arrogant. She lies to protect her hotel and staff. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Cosmomare. The location is great! I had a balcony, and I just opened stepped outside and was created with the most incredible views. The location is good too, you’re about a 10 min walk to the station and 15 min to the downtown of Sorrento. Additionally, you’re a 10 min walk to the port of Piano Di Sorrento, so it’s easy if you plan a day trip to Capri or Positano by boat. Breakfast was a straightforward continental breakfast (Italians are not big on breakfast like the Americans). Thank you Valeria and staff for your hospitality!

We stayed here in mid august 2023 as a couple. We arrived by Ferry in Sorrento and got a taxi nearby which took approx 15 mins. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming and provided us with lots of useful local information which came in very handy over the coming days. Our room was very comfortable (with the exception of the mattress which was a little hard for our taste). Views from the balcony were spectacular and we had everything we needed in the room. Breakfast was simple but tasty and, again, the breakfast room had a wonderful view over the bay of Naples. The hotel was in an excellent position - we took a short walk to the elevator which takes you down to the marina where there are a few good restaurants which we really enjoyed. Fracatell was particularly good (food and wine) however the pizza restaurant on the pier not so much - if you do go there stay away from the main menu and stick to the ‘traditional’ section. The hotel was close to Sorrento - we caught the train which was a 15 min walk from the hotel (could have been shorter had it not been so hot!). This only cost €1.60 each way and was easy to do. When arriving in Sorrento, we explored the old town and beach clubs which were €50 a day for a couple with a bed each and umbrella. Well worth it though for a really amazing swimming experience - the setting is amazing and it felt really safe. Plus they serve food and drinks there. On our last day we went to Piano Di Sorrento and hired a couple of beds there - which was much cheaper at €30 for the day. Equally as beautiful and probably slightly more child friendly than Sorrento. At the end of our stay we got the train to Naples (which wasn’t a great experience - expect no air-con or seating, plus a jam packed train). Although we chose this as it was significantly cheaper than other options at €8pp. We didn’t do any excursions - only because we were happy with what we had immediately available to us. There is plenty to explore locally. All in all, a very amazing experience and would 100% recommend this hotel to a friend. Very well located in a quiet location with enough at your fingertips and easy to get into the busier Sorrento.

Hotel was located 6km outside Sorrento, not surrounded near any restaurants or shops. To access the hotel & reception you have to walk 5 flights of stairs up which was annoying. The rooms were low quality & some lady in the reception told us we couldnt bring food or snacks into the room. Over all, over priced hotel considered it had no freshness, lack of working elevator & was not near any restaurants/shops.

Avoid this hotel. It is located in the upper two floors of an old building. Rooms are tiny, unclean and unwelcoming. Shower is small and water pressure is poor. Breakfast is lousy and the coffee is really bad. A/C was not working and the lady at the reception said it will start working in June... i then asked for a fan and she promised me that the manager will get back to me (he/she never did). Read some of the other reviews and note the rude responses from the hotel management - that should be another red flag for you.

The room was fabulous! Two balconies with stunning views. The staff went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Do not stay here it’s rotten we went on a chill trip and our whole experience was ruined by the hotel the floor was unclean the beds had dirt in them , our stuff was moved around and stolen from our rooms . One of the sockets went on fire after a girl in the next room tried to plug her charger in and the worker walked into my room without knocking our stuff was moved and my suitcase looked as if someone went through it . The breckfast was horrid I would never stay here again

Extremely bad hotel, and the staff are LIARS. One woman in particular who works at the reception was very arrogant and extremely unfriendly. I stayed with my wife one night there and there was an issue with water leak in the bathroom. The issue was not fixed and nobody offered me alternative room. The next day at the checkout, I was met by this unfriendly arrogant woman who did not even say "Thank you" or gave a smile when I handed my room key. Additionally, when I mentioned the issue with the water in our bathroom, she got embarrassed and instead of apologising she created a story that I was offered a room by the concierge but I refused to take it. I ended up having a very heated argument with her and the matter still under review by Trip.Com. AVOID THIS HOTEL.
