Andara Resort and Villas

Kamala Beach Phuket
Wonderful stay. Stayed in a 3 bedroom with pool villa. Villa was cleaned and well kept. Comes with a big room with king size bed and bigg bath room with deep bath tub. The other 2 rooms are twin beds and a queen bed. Each room has its own attached bathroom. There is an additional toilet at the living room area which is very convenient for big families. They have a huge round dining table. Kitchen comes with oven, microwave, coffee maker, stove, cutlery, plates, cups, bowls etc. No dish washer but you can wash dishes. Dishwashing liquid is given with sponge. They had welcome messages with flowers and towel animals. Buggy service is always prompt in arrival when requested for. Room service is also prompt. Staff are all friendly and help you with every query. Staff can speak English well enough to converse. They will help you book taxi should you want to travel anywhere. There is a shop within the hotel that sells swimming and fashion accessories. Breakfast for me was so so for me, great service but the buffet spread wasn't that extensive. You can order eggs, assor**ent of coffee and tea from thier menu. Then go to the buffet spread for confectionary, fruits, chinese dim sum, salad and rice dishes. Just next to the restaurant is the hotel pool along with a jacuzzi... you get a view of the sea. Pool chairs are lined up with towels on standby. As my room had a pool we did not utilise the hotel pool. From the lobby you would need to walk up alley and down to the first floor to take the buggy. So for elderly or wheel chair bound guests it maybe a challenge but am sure the hotel will probably provide buggy service from the lobby area for such guests if required. The location of the hotel is near kamala beach. The hotel has a free ferry service to drop you at kamala beach to and fro. Restaurants, shops and massage services are all available. Did not utilise the spa so can't comment. Kamala beach is not as busy as Patong beach so if you like a more peaceful a**osphere the location is fit for you. There is a convenience store about a 5 to 7 min walk away from the hotel. Taxi service is also available just outside the hotel. Patong is about a 20 min ride away from the hotel.

We had a really nice time at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked the honeymoon suite, which was great, very spacious and comes with everything you need and want and the views from the hotel are stunning. There is a fully stocked minibar. There is also room service by scanning a QR code in the room, but oddly, no beverages, you need to call from the room phone to order them. An evening service is provided where they light incense in the bathroom area - be careful to put your do not disturb sign on if you dont want housekeeping entering! The main pool is in the middle of the dining area, which we found strange. We preferred the pool down the road attached to Sienna Rocks café. It's a large and busy hotel, which we prefer to avoid. It's located at the top of a hill just off the main stretch of Kamala, which was nice for us as we like to be away from the main area. This hotel is not suitable for anyone with difficulties with stairs, there are a lot of stairs and we needed to carry our suitcases up and down 1 flight before getting to the elevator. The gym has a variety of equipment but again, busy in the mornings so you might need alternative moves. There were never any towels to wipe down the equipment when we went. The food & drink at the poolside restaurant were great and Vanilla Sky bar was nice too. We didn't go to the steakhouse restaurant as there weren't vegetarian options. The breakfast is really nice, a good variety of options and their omelette station is great! However, breakfast was always very busy, you were dodging people for most of it. Kamala is a very busy beach; we didn't like it so we travelled to surin beach and got a boat to another beach that was quieter for a few hours. We struggled to get a Grab taxi back to the airport at the end of our stay but the hotel concierge got us one in less than 5 minutes. Overall, a lovely stay and we really enjoyed it, but beware the busyness.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel in a ”deluxe double” room on the 3rd floor (#304). First of all, it's kind of an odd set-up in which the reception desk is actually in the back corner of the Sync Coffee Bar, located down a small alley off the street. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a large bed, small wardrobe with a safe box, fridge, kettle, tiny TV (but with a very good selection of channels), wet style bathroom, and a small balcony with a table and chairs. No view except of the neighbor's roof, but lots of natural light in this room. Lower floors may not have this luxury. What was lacking though, was a desk of any kind. There was a little bit of space next to the fridge, but I wouldn't call this a desk, nor was there a chair, so if you need to work on your laptop you may need to go to the cafe downstairs. Also there was an insufficient number of power points in the room - there was only one. Check-in was easy, although I may have timed it just right by good luck. It seemed to me that the reception desk was not always manned, and if the cafe is closed (open 9AM-7PM) it might be difficult to find someone to help you. Location is excellent, a very short walk to the beach and numerous restaurants and bars. Being set back off the road the way it is, the room was super quiet at night, with no street noise at all. I would return to this hotel based on the location and cleanliness of the room, but with the understanding that the facilities are lacking.

My first impression is that it is exquisite, well located, quiet in the middle of the noisy, and the overall is relatively small, but the layout is beautiful, and there is a small swimming pool! Service: It was mid-morning when we checked in. The owner Bon was always waiting for us. When we walked in, we had two glasses of lychee-flavored ice drinks. He warmly greeted us and introduced the room facilities. He would also take the initiative to help us out during the day. The room was organized very carefully. Said to be shocked~ Room: Hygiene is super clean, so that we have become picky about the sanitation of the hotel behind~ There are refrigerators, kettles, and even microwaves, which is very convenient. The decoration is simple but the texture is good! Overall, I am super satisfied. The owner's management is relatively Buddhist. It seems that such an exquisite hotel will be my family in the past two days. I wish business prosperity!

Well me & my wife stayed here in Oct 2022 and fell in love with the room !! Clean room good for two people with all amenities with balcony overlooking the sea, clean bathrooms but the best part you can watch the sea from your bed !! They do have an in house restaurant (don't serve breakfast though) and there are a lot of restaurants/cafes around this hotel. Also the staff, not many though, are all very sweet & helpful. Beach towels are provided too which is a big plus for people wanting to spend more time on the beach !! Will definitely stay here if coming to Phuket again !!

I've stayed in many budget hotels before, but this was definitely the worst experience. The room on the ground floor was a complete dump. The ”balcony” view was: toilet and storage rooms of the building next door (literally within reach). During rain balcony was totally splashed with water, so you can sit only in the room. The air conditioning was completely moldy. The inside of the fridge also. The only plus was relatively clean bedding and location at the beach. The hotel stands out very strongly in price, so you really get what you pay for. If you really want/need to be on Kamala Beach (which is not at all the prettiest beach), I recommend to pay more for accommodation and have decent standards.

Checked out within an hour of checking in. Had booked for 3 nights. Not at all like internet photos. Confusing restaurant entrance - tired and shabby looking. No pride at all on how things look. Room absolutely stank - essence of pitch blank drainage klong nearby. Room - curtain torn and terrace tatty, not clean and unusable due klong stench. Tatty, unkept beachfront area blocked with shabby shade cloth. Nothing about it appealed. Staff indifferent at best. One said “ ehhh” when we asked for the manager. The other looked slightly surprised when said we were leaving. Advised us it was an “outside problem” and not to open doors. So much for a terrace then. Bea Judging by reviews which we unfortunately only read after leaving, the owner doesn’t quite accept that there are problems with the place. Seems the same problems exist from as far back as 2015 or before.

We enjoyed the hotel because of the big clean room and the friendly staff. The wifi worked fine and the water pressure in the shower was good. The pool is quite small and it was too hot to use it during daytime because of no breeze. We chose to stay at the beach during the days, or rent a motorbike to see the rest of Phuket. The pandemic meant there was perhaps 10% occupancy and the hotel restaurant was closed. There were however plenty of open restaurants nearby. Kamala beach is usually relaxed but now it was very relaxed, which suited us well.
