Hotels in Karon Beach, Phuket

Located on a headland between Patong and Karon, this resort hotel is dissected by the road linking the two beaches. The lower section contains the main entrance for vehicles, reception, massage/spa and two restaurants. I was allocated one of the rooms of the upper segment. The hotel provides electric cart transport for the convenience of guests. The entire complex is perhaps 20 years old. Pedestrians risk life and limb crossing this road on foot, so need to be vigilant and be aware of oncoming traffic at all times. The double room itself is about average in size, with a small balcony. It served its purpose, being comfortable and as advertised, providing an ocean view. Air-conditioning cools down the room within 5 to 10 minutes, there are powerpoints on either side of the queen sized bed and there's a small refrigerator. The wifi signal was good enough and the bathroom was a fairly small open plan affair. A gym is situated in the upper section and has a very good functioning treadmill, free wrights and some other devices. The pool on the upper section had been drained and under repair. The lowermost pool was open for use. The restaurant/bar opens out to a magnificent sea view and serves quite decent, but expensive food. Their Thai soups and pasta dishes actually very good. Breakfast included and also good with plenty of variety. Booked taxi to airport from reception (1000 TBH). Hotel tariff only $36 AUD through Trip com so not expensive. Plenty of guests staying at the time of writing. If wanting to reach Patong or Karon can hire bike or get taxi. But this resort is a good buffer fron the hustle and bustle of downturn Patong and is a quiet alternative.

Not a bad enough hotel. The room is spacious. Cleaned upon request and necessity. Breakfast buffet with a choice of 2 porridges, soup, sausages, sausages, vegetables, fruits, scrambled eggs prepared especially for you with different fillings (delicious) yoghurt toppings, etc. The guests are almost all Russian. It’s bad that there are no Russian speakers at the reception or employees. 15 minute walk to the sea. The hotel has a super market and a restaurant, a massage parlor. The pool is clean with space for a jacuzzi. The child liked the children's pool. Nice view from the rooftop. The downside is poor noise insulation. Noisy condo.

The location is great as it’s closer to the north end of Karon beach. There are shops and bus stop nearby. (The southern end of the beach also have plenty of shops.) The hotel is rather old but clean. Staff were all friendly. The room is spacious! However, the A/C in the room I’m staying in wasn’t very cold. Figured that out late in the night and I was staying for just one night so I didn’t bother changing the room.

This resort is showing its age. The towels look old. They need to be changed. The lazy river that was the main attraction is not well maintenance. The water level in the pools and lazy river is noticeably lower by several inches. Can see the mark where the former water line was. As a result, the lazy river, which was a main attraction, is not that attractive any more. Location is a bit off from everything. Good if you want just a resort experience. Otherwise, you need to take a taxi to go into town for food and shopping. There's nothing around the resort.

Location - 10/10: The resort's location is excellent, right next to Karon Beach and the market, offering easy access to food and beach essentials. Service - 7/10: While the service has room for improvement, it's worth noting that the hotel may be relatively new, having opened in 2023. There was no assistance with luggage upon arrival, and the requirement of a 3000 baht cash deposit or passport surrender for security deposit seemed unusual in today's digital age. However, the majority of staff members were friendly, especially towards children, suggesting a family-friendly atmosphere. Breakfast - 8/10: The breakfast provided a good variety of food options and tasted delicious. However, it's recommended that the hotel addresses the issue of flies and mosquitoes by implementing pest control measures. Room and Facilities - 9/10: The room size was spacious, suitable for families of 3-4 people, and appeared to be well-maintained. The facilities, particularly the pool and kids' corner, were highly appreciated and contributed to the resort's family-friendly ambiance. Value - 8/10: Considering the room size and convenient location, with rates around HKD 1000 per night, Phuket Emerald Beach Resort offers good value for a family stay. Overall, Phuket Emerald Beach Resort boasts an excellent location by Karon Beach and the local market. I will start by declaring we only stayed for one night of our planned 10 night trip. I want to still submit a review as I believe that the way a business handles their customers in a bad situation is often a very good reflection on the business. So here it is. We arrived at check in to find the pool was completely empty due to works being completed. The work also meant the the rooftop bar and breakfast areas were closed also. We had booked the 3 bedroom apartment with rooftop Jacuzzi. The roof top area is nice and a fabulous view but the external spiral staircase to access it meant it was not accessible for my mother and a little scary with my 2 young children. We also had an issue with a water leak in the main bathroom. I can tell the hotel will be fabulous when they have finished their upgrades but I suggest you call and check before booking. I was disappointed with the work going on but it is low season so is the best time for the hotels to do these things and while prior notice would have been great it was the flexibility and helpful nature of the hotel that I want to say was fantastic. We stayed one night and had a fabulous breakfast brought to our room in the morning. That morning I spoke to the lady in the front office about my concerns with no pool or meals area at which time she did not charge us for the full 10 night stay that we had planed and she even helped us to find an alternative hotel and arranged transport for us to relocate. (We had a great time in Karon beach still and thanks to the Phunawa report for making what was a tricky situation much easier)

A lovely resort and an amazing time. My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights as part of a fantastic Luxury Escapes package deal. We were quite fortunate with the scheduling, as it appeared to be the last nice week of weather before the wet season began. So the resort was very quiet, but this added to our enjoyment. The resort is located across the street from Karon Beach among the most stunning tropical botanical gardens. It is also a 15-minute taxi ride to Patong Beach and a 10-minute taxi ride to Kata Beach. Our room had been recently renovated and offered a stunning view of the pool, gardens, and the beach. Both restaurants provided good food and the pool was a wonderful place for a cocktail or just relaxing. The staff was amazing, always helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

Good impressions have remained after staying at this hotel. Great plus - location, crossing the road and you on the beach. Better not to think! The beach is magnificent, there is a palm tree along it and there is no road or buildings visible. About hotel: The room was clean, small but the rooms were enough. Of the downsides: a tough mattress on the bed and a small balcony, there is no table on the balcony. Everything else arranged, cleaned every day and quite carefully, towels changed, shampoo, shower gel, soap, etc. everything was, as well as tea and coffee in bags, 2 bottles of water, filled every day. So to those who write negative reviews I want to say: It is a budget hotel, you do not forget how much it costs accommodation, we have only 2500 for two days with breakfast! For this money it is stupid to look for the minus. Yes, breakfast was scarce but not hungry, eggs and vegetables were always. There were no mosquitoes in the room, sleeped with an open balcony. Yes, the area at the hotel is not, but you have come to the hotel to sit? Here across the road a chic beach! The swimming pool is good on the roof of the 4 building where we lived, the sauna worked too. Near the night market of food. In general, for this money it is a good choice. I recommend. And for the saved ones you can go for breakfast and in the cafe)

The hotel is sitting on an pretty sizeable campus, but the curved design helps to manage walking distance between different facilities. There a few swimming pools on site, as well as restaurants if you like to stay on the property. You can easily take a Tutu or taxi from the beach entrance. There used to be a TOPS convenience store according to Google map but it is gone now. Hotel is old with facility in the home. Phone is like still in the 90s. Bathroom was done probably 10 years ago. Their toothpaste comes with a tiny drop it bearly covers one time usage. Overall if you like big hotels this is it. But room is getting old. Will I go back again? Probably not.

We stayed for 3 nights and in the sea view room it was lovely and big very clean with everything you need in there was on a busy road but there was no noise really after 11pm trees over the road on beach so not really direct view of sea but a lovely view anyway
