The hotel itself is impeccable. It's located mid-hill, cool, and within walking distance of the elephant camp. Further up the hill, you'll reach a viewing platform overlooking Patong Beach. There are two excellent restaurants nearby, both reasonably priced and delicious.
Most importantly, our host, Guing, is incredibly kind and helpful. I hope she'll visit my hometown.

Misleading and Disappointing
The description and photos of this hotel are completely misleading. Despite its high score of 9.4 and claims of being "near Patong Beach," the reality is far different.
Issue 1: The hotel is not near Patong Beach—it’s a 13-minute drive up a mountain.
Issue 2: The photo of the large outdoor pool is highly deceptive.
Issue 3: The room was dirty, and our front door opened to a noisy car park.
Issue 4: The mattresses were as hard as a pile of bricks.
Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are plenty of better options closer to the beach, restaurants, and entertainment.

The Rai Rum Yen Resort is now open for long stay. Cheap rates for living in the amazing Thai jungle with 14 minutes access to the beach, night life and Bangla Road. You will need transport climb up into the mountains and go home to jungle noises from party town. The best of all worlds.
