The Rai Rum Yen Resort is now open for long stay. Cheap rates for living in the amazing Thai jungle with 14 minutes access to the beach, night life and Bangla Road. You will need transport climb up into the mountains and go home to jungle noises from party town. The best of all worlds.

The best of all worlds. You can wake up in the middle of the Thai jungle with the sounds of birds and amazing views. Be on the beach in 12 minutes, party in the biggest gig in Thailand in 10 minutes, dance most of the night and travel all over south Thailand. There are fewer tourists so at last you can book rooms; they are better priced, and the weather is perfect. Unless you don’t like paradise.

We all know hotels, like everything else, are a matter of personal taste. So, this is my personal taste. I have been visiting the Patong for decades and while I’ve only stayed at a few hotels, I have seen most of them. From very expensive to very inexpensive. Do not be deceived by its rating, because the reality is, very different. You might find the décor old, but I like that it’s a solid dark wood style. The webpage is out of date, let’s hope it’s updated soon. At the moment, I have a separate kitchen and lounge/bedroom area. But here is what sets it apart from any other hotel in Patong. The view from the balcony is absolutely, stunning. Waking up every day surrounded by a Thai jungle is spectacular and only 11 minutes’ drive from the town. So, you do need transport, it is high in the mountains, which I love. On hot days it is cool up here. On top of that is that it is very affordable. Do read all the other reviews of how good the owners and staff are. I will be returning every time. John Gowland 19th January 2023

Really disappointed with this hotel, for more than 10 years that we have been going there as a family, the prices have increased significantly, the staff is less and less respectful, the hotel less and less maintained, a pig farm in front of the door as well as piles of garbage give off strong odors. The swimming pool is very often green with the excuse of waiting for a part that should arrive from Bangkok but it has been the same for 5 years. I strongly advise against this hotel which looks more and more like a dump.

The more you go there, the dirtier and more poorly maintained it becomes.
