Amora Beach Resort Phuket

Such a mixed bag… our room was spacious, clean and well equipped, besides the fact that there was a night stand and plug on only one side of the bed (don’t both people deserve somewhere to place a drink or plug in their phone?!). However, we asked for a quiet room away from elevators, only to find we were right next to the kids pool and opposite some building work where guys were grinding and welding most of the day - not at all peaceful! Having booked a pool side room I would have anticipated having pool towels provided in our room. This wasn’t the case. There was a pool towel pick up around the pool opposite our room, however I never once saw an attendant on duty, and only once saw a pile clean towels available. We ended up having to go to one of the other pools to collect pool towels. There was also a pool bar near our room, however the in pool seating and sit up bar was on the other side of the pool! Not to mention that the sunken pool bar wasn’t an actual bar, just a place to order drinks and the wait staff would disappear off to a bar in the main building to get our drinks. We used this service twice and both times it took over 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Another example of missing the mark is that guests at a 5-star resort shouldn’t have to park in a dirt lot across the street. We also had rusty brown water coming out of the pipes in our bath tub. For a hotel advertised as 5-star these did not match expectations. We visited the beach once, but left when we were told there was a charge to use the ‘comfortable’ loungers nearest the bar swimming area. Despite being hotel guests we were told only the ‘less comfortable’ loungers further away from the bar were available free to hotel guests! charging for a cabana I understand, but a specific lounger is ridiculous! Finally, we had multiple power cuts during our stay. No warning, no explanation, no apology. One morning we had to call three times to get someone sent out to our room to reset a flipped breaker switch. Once again all power in our room went out as we packed to check out before dawn on our departure day. We had to use our phone flash lights and because of this left a couple of items behind which were difficult to see in the dark. While an item was retrieved by staff after we realized it was missing, we were then asked to pay for its return delivery. It was a small charge and the very least I could have expected in compensation for the inconvenience of all the power cuts. The best thing about the resort was the overall friendliness and willingness of the staff to provide good service. We ate at the beach bar and used room service several times and the food was excellent. A shout out to Tun in the outside bar and Pim in guest services - exceptional service and an enormous value to the resort. But unfortunately they are being let down by a property which doesn’t quite meet the 5-star standard it claims.

A wonderful hotel in a minimalist style, everything is white, clean, beautiful, excellent breakfasts with a large selection, beautiful pool areas, the hotel staff is very friendly, smiling and attentive. Very enjoyed the stay, will definitely come back and will recommend to friends.

We loved this hotel, it’s 5 stars installations; everything seems very new and well cared with love! The breakfast is delicious with several options! Private beach, 2 pools, massages, gym and the staff is very friendly and helpful at front desk and in Whatspp, I recommend this hotel for picky travelers, everything is good and perfect 🤩!!! The view of the rooms is beautiful to beach and pool… also liked the fact that can walk in the night to Maya and Nomad beach clubs since is just like 10 mins walk! love Amora resort ❤️❤️

Amazing hotel. Right on the beach with nice sun loungers. Staff were amazing. Great breakfast selections. Got upgraded to the poolside room which was nice. Big parking lot.

Very clean, great location and staff who understand you.

The hotel was a very good selection with good amenities and friendly staff. The location was excellent with good access to basic necessities. I would highly recommend this hotel.
