Ocean Bay Phu Quoc Resort and Spa

Ong Lang Phu Quoc Island|1.01km from Phu Quoc Jeep Tour
This was the most amazing holiday I have ever had. I stayed for 10 days and enjoyed every day in spite of visiting during the rainy season. From the moment of arrival Tram, the customer service manager, and his team ensured a warm welcome and a swift check in process in a relaxing environment with a welcome drink. All staff from the porters - we were welcomed by Bo who ensured to show us all aspects of our room and personally escorted us to the bar where we could get delicious food and cocktails - were professional and provided excellent customer service. The location is breath-taking - right on the beach with an infinity pool if you don't want to dip into the ocean. SUP and canoes are available for hire or you can just relax in the midst of the immaculate cultivated gardens or on the beach. Food and drink are available 24/7 with room service alongside a pool bar, separate bar with pool table and a dining restaurant with superb ocean views. Scooters and bicycles are also available for rent to explore the area but you can also walk easily to the main road and to a couple of local shops. The cocktails, fresh fruit juices and smoothies were superb with an amazing breakfast buffet which surpassed all expectations served in the tree top restaurant with a breathtaking view over the ocean and infinity pool. Pastries, freshly cooked Vietnamese omelettes, alongside noodles, cereal, toast, amazingly fresh fruit and Vietnamese coffee are all available in abundance. During the day there is a great selection at the pool bar or in the bar as well as the Ocean Restaurant in the evening for cocktail hour and an evening meal that has an open kitchen and is sited on a jetty with spectacular open ocean views. Everything was freshly cooked with a well thought out curated menu great options, including Pho, fresh steak, fresh fish, pizzas and pasta. The restaurant staff was extremely attentive and friendly - we were served by Khahn who was especially friendly and welcoming. Accommodation was jungle luxe with fabulous design, great attention to detail, excellent service and 100% tranquility surrounded by the jungle with all mod cons with direct access to a private beach. Highly recommended to relax and detox from the modern world. No need to leave the resort for the duration of your trip.

After being stuck at home for the past 3 years and watching replays of Getaway, we finally got out of Australia and arrived in Phu Quoc. Stepping out of the taxi we were warmly greeted by the concierge staff with the traditional 'Xin Chao' as they escorted us into the beautiful Movenpick Resort foyer. Immediately my wife and I felt relaxed. This was what we had missed during COVID, escaping our busy lives and enjoying such beautiful resorts. Check-in was seamless and we were in our room in no time. I had an issue with our room and spoke to Linh at reception who was so nice and professional, and quickly resolved the situation. And in a flash we were by gorgeous pool and enjoying tropical cocktails. We spent the next 3 days laying around the pool, in the sun loungers looking out into the ocean, taking naps in the hammocks between the palm trees and enjoying the ocean breeze as we watched the sunsets. The Spa was amazing and one of the best we've experienced. The pre-spa sauna, stream room and spa baths was sooo relaxing. Breakfast was a feast to the eyes with delicious authentic Vietnamese food and a great international selection. The afternoons were spent devouring all sorts of enticing desserts during Chocolate Hour (and all for free, what a bonus!) We loved spending our evenings at Aura Beach Club as Vu was so helpful and attentive. He even got the whole team to sing Happy Birthday to me which was such a pleasant surprise. When we returned to our room, Linh and the reception team had organised a birthday cake and some gifts from the Resort. So sweet! It's things like this that make our holidays even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed Movenpick Resort Phu Quoc and the wonderful staff that made it so special. We will be back! and will bring all our families and friends :)

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable and is very comfortable. The shower room is functional, toilet towels and the hygiene needs are provided. The hotel is located in the centre of the city, and the hotel is located in the centre of the city. For the outdoor environment of the hotel, there is the sea at less than 5 minutes walk, with a bar, really nice that I recommend at sunset, beautiful framework for successful photos. In the vicinity you have plenty of small restaurants where there is a wide choice to enjoy all the papillae. The staff of the hotel is really welcome and helpful. Super quality/price ratio.❤️

We left a similar (fine but…) review for this place on booking.com and they retroactively cancelled the booking to delete our review. The staff were friendly enough (though a bit odd, they tried to give one of our motorbike helmets to another guest even though we had rented our bike and helmets from another location). The cleaning was essentially non-existent - they changed the towels every day, but didn’t clean the bathroom, sheets or floors, replace our bath mat or face cloths for our entire 1-week stay. We had to take the broom off the cleaning cart to sweep our own room one day and only then did they get the message and actually sweep and mop our floor. When we arrived, I had to ask them to replace all of our pillow cases because every single one was filthy and while we were out the bum sprayer on the wall somehow broke and sprayed water all over our bathroom (they were very quick to fix the sprayer thankfully but never bothered mopping up the bathroom for the entire stay) The garden was actually quite beautiful and the location was decently close to restaurants. They’re a bit far from the beach if you’re lugging a toddler though. There was a bar area and restaurant that weren’t running which is unfortunate because that would have been a really lovely touch!

Phu Quoc Island has been here for the fifth time, and I feel a little too much. This hotel is average, the rooms are clean and the swimming pool is really small. I chose it before because it was close to Mango Bay. There are some restaurants around but most of them are pits, and the price/performance ratio is too low. Breakfast is also the worst of the three hotels we chose. This is really speechless, maybe because of the lack of staff? There is almost nothing to eat, and there is very little fruit. It is very good at the other two hotels for the same price, especially fruit. The laundry is not calculated in kilograms according to the frame, and the result is about RMB 108 after washing twice (I think of Taipei, when you think of coin laundry and drying clothes, you only need a dozen yuan a time, I think the price is worse) At first there were ants in the room. Many, spray a lot of medicine. There is an open-air bar next door. The sandwiches are delicious. Although there are not many choices, it is very cost-effective compared to the surrounding restaurants. There are some singers in the evening. Generally speaking, the price/performance ratio is not high, and others of the same grade will be better.

I had a wonderful stay at this small family hotel. Very nice room with lovely view from both the bedroom and bathroom over the pool. Yen, delightful lady with the biggest smile, behind reception and everywhere else really, couldn’t do too much. The time of year meant torrential downpours of rain so she took me on her scooter shopping for food, sourced a nearby nail salon and drove me there and back. Yen suggested good local seafood restaurants, organised reasonably priced taxis, filled in my Bluezone health declaration form prior to departure for the airport. There was only myself and one other guest there! We were served mango and banana pancakes and coffee for breakfast. The beach is only four minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel as an incredibly inexpensive option, about £8 for B and B for two in the room, but I was just one, for those wishing to eschew touristy destinations and embrace a remote setting.

A lovely eco resort in the island that contrast with the mass tourism and big resort around. Food is delicate and fresh service is efficient and helpful. However the room nearby the restaurant are a bit noisy but it’s part of the charm of the natural mood that the resort want to bring. Spa is cute and breakfast tasteful.
Kingo Retreat Resort
