Courtyard Phoenix Downtown Reviews

Located a couple of blocks from downtown and right in front of the Footprint Stadium, the Courtyard Phoenix Downtown hotel features rooms almost similar to each other but comfortable, cleaned on a daily basis, equipped with a useful coffee maker and generous in size. You can't properly say they are elegant but they look nice with functional furniture - maybe a bit impersonal - with comfortable beds and adequate lighting. In short, this is more a business hotel than a four-star classy one.. Breakfast in the morning allows you to try the local cuisine with excellent and tasty vegetarian burritos and equally delicious coffee tartlets all produced by Shamrock Farms. However, some flaws have put the hotel in a bad light in my opinion: the swimming pool is beautiful and well maintened but not heated (!); the parking at the rear of the hotel is being offered for $40 a day (ridiculous!); the small internal corner for any Daily necessities costs a fortune (a packets of Lays crisps Is 9 dollars plus taxes (!!) and lastly the staff who were not always welcoming and proactive: during my stay I absolutely wanted to try at least one ride on Waymo the worldwide well known self-driving taxi service which runs throughout the city. However, none of the members at the reception helped me to find a solution and help me having a ride. I'd say many yes but also some no.

The hotel is in a very good location, very close to the Footprint Centre. There are also many high-quality restaurants and supermarkets that open late, so it is very convenient to buy daily necessities. It is also only 2 or 3 minutes away from two major sports facilities, including NBA venues, which is very convenient.

It was convenient place to stay after the DBacks game in downtown Phoenix and it was close to restaurants and entertainment. Check in and out was easy and then ladies were very nice. Our room and some very noticeable blemishes that made it look run down and if they were addressed it would be a 5 star for condition. Also I think that 43$ a night for valet is a bit much but and the website read $38. Oh well ..overall it was nice

Love how everything was in walking distance, found some good new restaurants, and just loved the overall stay at the hotel!!! We will definitely be back!

A good location for meetings in the downtown area of Phoenix. Near the light rail and sports stadia. Great breakfast

The property overall is centrally located to everything you need. There is a grocery store across the street which was super convenient to pick up drinks and snacks. The hotel itself was clean and staff was helpful for the most part. Having to use your room key to operate the elevator EVERY time you got in it was kind of a pain. I can see using it to operate the elevator once you first get in to go up to your room; however, having to use it to go to the lobby from the floor your room is on was a bit much.

We booked our stay here to 1. Celebrate a milestone and 2. Escape our house, which had slightly flooded due to a broken water heater. Upon entry, the vibes were immediately askew. Receptionists seemed as though they may have been held hostage by Marriott, but they were friendly, especially one in particular (I don’t want to name her), who ended every exchange with well wishes & a smile that seemed authentic but had an undertone of contempt for her job. I don’t blame her. Our room was small & the petite bottle of lotion supplied by the hotel had already been opened. The shower’s handle was fragile, like a foal prone to dying at the mildest inconvenience. No free breakfast. The lounge was closed off due to some sort of bartending convention, whatever. When we tried to book another night (out of necessity), they initially claimed to be full, then said we could stay another night, at the cost of… $550. No, thanks. I wish the staff well, they were friendly. Hopefully Marriott releases them home to their families.

10/10 experience, city life was amazing, definitely would stay with this hotel again

The hotel was very nice and extremely convenient for our overnight stay after the Eagles concert in Phoenix. However, for what we paid ($359 before taxes), the room was very small and nothing special. In fact the bed was so close to the wall it was difficult for my husband to get up during the night. There was only one coffee packet, the TV was small, and the couch was very hard. Also, we could not open the body wash in the shower which forced us to use the one tiny bar of soap that was in the bathroom. Service (people) was great and the hotel itself is very nice and convenient, we just expected more from the room.

It was perfect for us to go to the concert and took only minutes. Staff was great help and friendly went way out of there way. Restaurants are all close by and had good food. Little pricey but that is what to be expected downtown
