We chose a place in Phalaborwa to be close to the Kruger Park Gate. This worked really well and added another morning of sightseeing to our trip. It also meant we were fresh and well rested when we entered the park. The property also had a few elements I needed: a shower that would be easy to enter and exit for an elderly person, safe parking, early departure and a space to sit outside and relax after a long day of driving. I loved all the plants and pets they had, made the place feel very welcoming.

I don't know what was better, the owners, the pets or the place. All around 5 stars for each. We were there for 1 night and we were kicking ourselves for not booking longer. The owners were the most helpful, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and ensured we had our privacy as much as we could. Highly recommend. Great value for money.

We had a wonderful time at A Traveller’s Palm. It’s only about a 5-minute drive to Phalaborwa Gate, which was perfect for our Kruger visit. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and there was a great playing area for the kids. Friendly staff and peaceful atmosphere — highly recommended for families!

This guesthouse is a pristine oasis in Phalaborwa with wonderful, accommodating hosts who know the area well. The room had a fridge, microwave, coffee- making supplies and bottled water to greet you. The bed was very comfortable and the room was immaculate. What especially stood out for me was the outdoor bathroom decorated with stones and greenery with the hottest shower I had in Africa. It also has a pingpong table and swimming pool. There is a mini-Spar a block away that has great take-out food. There are also many safaris on offer in the area. It was truly a home away from home and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Wonderful hosts, very clean and centrally located in Phalaborwa. Lovely Lapa and swimming pool. Rooms very clean and comfortable.
