Alps Hostel

Very cool, modern hostel concept, rooms were spotlessly clean, excellent value for money, all important information immediately after booking via WhatsApp, easy check-in with PIN code, organic breakfast....... I was completely satisfied, would gladly come back :)

Extremely unpleasant host and not at all pro-active! Dirty or even unsanitary accommodation The bedding is dirty and it smells extremely bad we slept with a t-shirt as a pillowcase The ad is nothing but a lie the room was not at all compliant We took one night hotel elsewhere for the last night To flee

Before our arrival, we are given a room number 2. We arrive. The keys are freely accessible. No key for this room! But the room was open, we went inside, thinking that maybe the key was inside. Alas no, on the other hand, hair on the bed, impossible to miss that with the naked eye! We send a message to the host for the keys and telling him that the keys to room number 3 are available, an error may have been made since the photos do not match! (missing the sofa in the room) and we were told in capital letters NO, threatening us with having to pay cleaning costs, no excuses, no sympathy, even though we were very kind! We waited 40 minutes! To receive a message saying "key is on the rack now" bring them to us apologizing? Too complicated ? In short the bed is a disaster, we have

Heartless, contemptuous and extremely unfriendly. That's how I felt about the personal contact with the operator of the Alps Hostel. My wife, our 10-year-old son, our little dog "Emma" and I arrived on a rainy December evening at around 9:30 p.m. and met the operator there, who only acknowledged us briefly. When he saw our dog, he said something like, "You can't stay with the dog, dogs aren't allowed in the building." His statement also corresponded to the accommodation's terms and conditions, the mistake was clearly mine, as we originally wanted to travel without the dog and when booking through a booking portal I had therefore not paid attention to the ban on animals in the accommodation. I would now have wished that our counterpart had worked with us on a solution. When we specifically asked, he gave us the name of an accommodation nearby that would be suitable for us, but that was it. He didn't even consider trying to call them for us, nor did it occur to him to offer us a seat so that we could look for alternative accommodation from there. He put us outside with our overtired and hungry child. He didn't consider making an exception, which I can understand to a certain extent. I haven't felt so humiliated and contemptuous on a human level for a long time. The fact that the entire booking amount was debited because we "didn't show up" probably doesn't need to be mentioned separately. It's in line with the terms and conditions. Sit down, Mr. Innkeeper, six! We'll never see the Alps Hostel again and I'll be careful not to recommend it to anyone else.

Overall, worn out condition, musty smell, basic furnishings, no TV, everything needs to be renovated. Shower with stains, also worn out. Landlord unfriendly after request for a better room or cancellation. Cancellation was refused. Not recommended. I'm surprised at the many positive reviews, as this does not reflect reality.
