Grand Mercure Petra
4.1/568 Reviews
The hotel sit atop a hill overlooking the desert hills - a wonderful view, about a 10-min. drive from the Petra visitor center. All the staff we met, from the security guards, to the bellman, the front desk, the restaurant - were just SUPERB. All of them. The lobby is inviting and warm, the restaurant is spacious and with lots of sunshine. Dinner buffet had a very nice variety and decent quality, yet overpriced. Breakfast had a wonderful variety with good quality. The room was very clean, and looked like it was built last year - very well maintained. Although the building looks very new, overall, the hotel is overpriced a bit. Overall, an excellent choice for Petra.
Tetra Tree Hotel

We just arrived in Amman from Petra where we stayed for 3 nights / 4 days at Tetra Tree hotel. When we first arrived, the management did everything they could to have our room ready even though we reached the hotel at around 11ish... The room was spacious and with very good A/C, furniture and closet. However, everything else was a disappointment. First of all, the shower door did not close properly therefore there was always leakage. Also, the handle from the inside of of the shower door was missing. The towels had spots on them and the dinner was awful to say the least. After the first night that i had dinner there i fell ill and have not recovered yet even though i stopped eating anything from the hotel menu. The desert they offered was of very bad quality and the second night it smelt bad... They offered the same dish on monday night as part of the buffet (which only has 2 options of food)and the next evening they offered the same dish as set menu. The humous and olives were nice but the vegetables on the salad were cut much earlier and were dry. The first dip at the pool was disappointing as i found a dead cockroach inside the pool which i removed. The surrounding of the pool was of very bad hygiene. The water was colder than usual but this is how i liked it anyway. Now for the employees... They were all very kind, especially with our two little children. To conclude, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone i am afraid. Our first visit to Petra was in Movenpick hotel but this time our budget did not allow us to stay there as they did not offer a family room which was offered in Tetra Tree Hotel hence the choice of this hotel. However, it definitely is not a 3 or 4 star hotel..!!! I do hope the management takes note of the ratings here and make some essential changes for the hotel to survive...
Petra Moon Luxury Hotel

I assume this hotel near the Visitor Center through which you access Petra's visit is not a good hotel. The services considered the presumed area are in average if not slightly higher.. What does not work and I found quite irritating is the continuous request to review (it is well understood) the hotel and its services. Everyone, from the restaurant's serveers to those working in the pool (and made us wait 20 minutes for a towel), has forced us to express a positive assessment: there are even those, without even give us time to enjoy what we had ordered, we have made plane on the table the carefully plasticized sheet with the QR codes to recense well and even quickly. Who is sure of the quality of his service does not need to ask for positive assessments, on the contrary to who knows that he is working in a discrete but not inexpectable structure should be strongly prevented by head managers, The best way to offer a service is to provide the most careful and careful service, and the best reviews will arrive without request.
The Old Village Hotel & Resort

This place is sort of a boutique hotel opened by locals and not one of the big chain hotels and it’s location (point 1) is slightly further away from the city centre and it’s located on the hillside and there is no way you can walk there, you definitely need a car to reach this place from Petra Visitor Center ( hence please take a cab ) but it was fine for us as we drove. The price we paid was somewhat expensive ( due to its peak season) but all the hotels nearby were on the high side. Rooms are exceptionally clean and it even smell of freshly laundered sheets, good ventilation and breakfast was decent. We had dinner here as well 20JOD for the buffet dinner per person and it was great on the weekend nights but on a weekday nights the menu offering is much limited. Staff are generally friendly but I was turn off by a cook named Ala’a who was attending the egg station during breakfast on 29 October - not only was he slow ( compared to the cook of the previous day - leading to long wait at the station despite less than 30 people in the breakfast place), he was also rude to guests who didn’t really speak English and even told them when they didn’t clearly place their orders- I was observing and it was really bad taste as he scowl at them and this is only coming from a cook at the eggs station - you need mind your customer service ettiquete especially to foreign guests who makes up most of your revenue. The least you can do is smile and not make your guests feel like feel bad about their language when they are ordering their eggs.
Movenpick Resort Petra

I finished tour at Petra and came to movenpick to cool down and drink. I stumbled upon happy hour, 2 for 1. 😊 Really good price and the service from Mutaz.N was amazing, he really looked after me. It also came with free chocolate hour (fruit and cake dipped in the chocolate fountain) . Good vibe in the bar, highly recommend. Thank you Mutaz.N . Really Appreciated ❤️
Petra Sella Hotel

Chiara e Joseph
