Except the check-in being a little complicated--the lovely couple who run the hotel/cafe do not live on the premises--this is a wonderful establishment. The rooms are quite comfortable and nicely appointed (although on the small side). The owners did phone and left a message on the door to facilitate our arrival. We met them the following morning. The cafe was an added benefit. The menu is terrific; diners may eat in the cafe or on the porch. The highlight were the pastries! This is a gem on the North Shore!

We were contacted the day of our arrival and informed how to pick up our keys to the room. When I booked, I did not realize there would be so many stairs to climb to the second story where the rooms where located. I have knee issues and found navigating the stairs difficult. Even though we were travelling with only small carry on suitcases, we only took what was required for an overnight stay in our backpacks. I found our room to be on the small side with limited electrical outlets. My husband has a CPAP machine and we had to move the bed to be able to plug in his machine. An extension cord would have been helpful. Our rate only included the night stay, although a discount was offered if we ate breakfast at the ground floor cafe. There was a small kitchenette on a landing at the foot of the stairs on the upper floor, with a communal fridge and small table. Our sleep was comfortable. Overall, I found the experience of staying here very impersonal. We never met the proprietors and when we went to the cafe the next morning for breakfast, we stood by the door for some time without anyone acknowledging or welcoming us. I understood that they were busy, but a brief hello would have been sufficient. We departed seeking breakfast elsewhere. Overall, a very impersonal, not very welcoming experience.

We had a lovely room. Very pleased to be able to stay here. It was to bad that we missed going to the Bistro downstairs as we arrived late.

No Bakery - misleading We made our reservation thinking we were staying above a cute and delicious bakery. But alas as we are driving to our appointment we get notified, that the bakery is closed and we can check ourselves into our room. Bummer. The room was clean but tiny, the shower was in the bedroom. But we got a good night sleep and on our way in the morning. If you are looking for a place to lay your head this is good. If you were hoping for cure or special, not so much.

The hosts Cecile and Jerome were absolutely wonderful. Warm and friendly. The location is perfect., just a short stroll to the main warf and good food. Breakfast was excellent (25%off). I highly recommend this quaint and comfy Auberge.

Don’t stay on a Monday and make sure you leave on time. We are traveling by car through the region and stayed one night here. One would think the innkeeper would have told us that the attached cafe wasn’t open at the time of booking on the one day we are staying. If you look at the website it’s all about their Cocooning Cafe, skilled chef, brunch, lunch and dinner which we could not enjoy on arrival (we came at 7pm) or departure. When my husband went down to the cafe to get a table, he was asked how he got in. Then was told they are closed on Monday and to go to the donut shop instead. So odd. The housekeeper came to our door and told us we were supposed to be out by 11am (at 11:15am) because she needed to clean and leave. Not friendly. Was not a comfortable or pleasant stay with them and it wasn’t cheap. Disappointed and hungry. Had they been more friendly and informative, the discomfort of the bed and bright LED light above our heads would have been a non issue. Simply weird and awful.
