Lost Guest House Peterhead

My husband and I stayed here just one night while traveling through Peterhead. The gust house was not even a 10 minute walk from the bus station and had a grocery store a short walk away. We booked online and when we got there we were buzzed in and our room key was waiting for us by the door. When we got to the room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a kettle with coffee and tea for us as well as a decent sized tv. The bathroom was basic but clean and the shower was large and had fabulous water pressure. All in all it was a great room for an even better price. Will definitely stay there again!

Not the best view from the pavement but once inside the interior was well cared for. My room was upstairs on the second floor and although small it had all the necessary requirements for a comfortable stay. The room and shower room/toilet were spotless with huge fluffy white towels and a very good shower. The bed was very comfortable and cosy with the pillows and double duvet of the best quality. Large flat TV in the corner and a kettle and tea and coffee supplies nearby. Unfortunately I didn't know about the microwave which was available downstairs somewhere - next time I'll make use of it. When I got home I found out that I'd left my mobile phone cable and charger still plugged into the wall in the bedroom so I called and spoke to Eve who very kindly posted it to me on the next available day and refused to accept the postal charge ! Very nice lady indeed !! Keeps the place spotless !!

My daughter and I have just returned from 4 nights at Lost Guest House Peterhead and were very pleased with our stay. We asked for a ground floor room and we’re delighted to be allocated a very spacious room with large walk in shower. The beds, a double and full size singlewete very comfortable and the bedding excellent. Everything we could have wanted was either in the room or readily available. The two ladies who run the house were very helpful and friendly. We are also really pleased to say that everything was spotless with daily cleaning performed. Really considering what we paid for the four nights it was a great deal.

Location, good en-suite shower Disliked · If you’re planning to stay for a few nights, you’re unlikely to encounter (m)any problems. I spent 2 months here in the summer and found it quite ok. But this time around, it was awful. There was regularly a lot of noise coming from the landing outside my room, including slamming of doors and shouting. This got worse during the football World Cup. The room was mostly cold, even though the radiators had been bled. It was also not cleaned well, so e.g. there were sticky surfaces and mucky corners, even just after the cleaner had been in. The beds are firm, which was ok for me, but the pillows are very hard and uncomfortable. I found the cleaning staff mostly superficial, and one member of staff in particular, aggressive. Initially, they seemed very accommodating – letting me know to contact them if there’s anything I need. But as time went on, they stopped responding to my (few) requests. And on one occasion, I had to go through customer support at *********** to have them try to contact someone at the guesthouse to replenish the toilet rolls in my room, as no (cleaning) staff could be reached over a couple of days. If I’d not have had several important appointments to attend in Peterhead and there had been more choice in terms of reasonably-priced accommodation in that area, I certainly would not have stayed as long as I did. On check-out day, I was truly relieved to be going.
