Château Pape Clément

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Château Pape Clément vineyard in the Pessac appellation in Bordeaux, France. This stay was not only the highlight of our entire two-week vacation in France, but also the most fantastic accommodation we have ever experienced. Our room was the suite named “the White room” (photo attached) and I felt like a princess. The staff were friendly, helpful and absolutely the best hospitality professionals anywhere in the world. The property is historic (over 700 years old) and exudes a charm that you instantly feel on the free tasting and tour of the grounds that is included in the price of the room. As you might expect, the rooms are expensive, but well worth the splurge as a once in a lifetime experience.

We had so much fun staying at Pape Clément! Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend staying there. The staff were especially friendly and welcoming. The tours of the chateau and winery were very nice. Liked walking the grounds too!

Beautifully restored 19th century chateau surrounded by vineyards, yet close to Bordeaux. Had an amazing one night stay followed by a great tour of the winery and a wine tasting the next day Spectacular chateau, gardens and vineyard!

I'm a generally thrifty person, so when I booked a one-night stay at this price point I cringed a little. But I'm SO GLAD I did! We had an amazing time. David, the concierge, was an absolute treasure. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and gave us a wonderful tour of the grounds packed with interesting historical facts. The food and wine were great. The wine tour and tasting were also quite fun, and all of the staff were super helpful and spoke perfect English. The building itself was gorgeous and the room very comfortable with exactly the kind of old-fashioned luxury you expect from the photos.
