We just stayed at the Villa Maria Hotel & Spa for 1 night and had a great experience. It was the first time ever being in Francavilla al Mare and we are so happy that we chose this place. The location was great as we were without a car. The taxi ride to and from the Pescara train station was only 10 minutes. Also, we enjoy walking. It was only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach in Francavilla al Mare and all of the restaurants, shops there—very easy to do. The room was clean, very spacious and I do recommend a view of the water—absolutely incredible. We loved our balcony. The property itself is very hidden and quiet. The hotel is very nice, kept very well and the breakfast was delicious. The entire staff at the Villa Maria is very accommodating and attentive to our every need—thank you to everyone working there! Upon our return to that area, we will definitely stay at the Villa Maria Hotel again. I highly recommend!

Excellent experience: despite the fact that in those days the hotel was completely full for a particularly popular convention, the hotel staff was fully able to make us feel at home, guaranteeing professionalism and precision. The room was equipped with everything and was clean. The breakfast service is also good. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic setting right in the middle of the city center and the main shopping street, though easy to reach by car. Friendly staff and easy check-in and check-out. Di passaggio a Pescara per una notte, abbiamo trovato al volo una camera tripla ma non ci siamo trovati bene. La stanza era datata, sia negli arredi che per quanto riguarda i sanitari, e non risultava decisamente ben tenuta. La doccia era molto scomoda, con un doccino che non si riusciva a far star dritto, senza il piatto e con delle pareti di plastica mobili impossibili da tenere chiuse in modo corretto, finendo per bagnare tutto il pavimento. La cosa peggiore è stata però il fastidiosissimo rumore dell'impianto di climatizzazione, evidentemente molto vecchio e bisognoso di manutenzione. Impossibile riuscire a dormire, o per il caldo, o per il rumore continuo e forte, proveniente dalle bocchette posizionate sul soffitto. La colazione sufficientemente varia ma nulla di più. Bene invece per quanto riguarda la posizione della struttura, vicina alla stazione, comoda per visitare il centro e il lungomare. Nel complesso, non ritorneremmo in questo hotel.

We booked this hotel for 9 nights, from August 18, 2023 to August 27, 2023. In the first night an extremely noisy event (which we understood from the Reception when we complained is a DAILY event between 20:00-24:00) from the nearby hotel. No one from the hotel warned us about this. Also, this was not mentioned in the description of the hotel on the website. When we talked about this at the reception, they did not offer any solution. They knew about this problem. They said that they will try to give us another room in a few days, but an worse room that the one we paid for. We checked out the next day. The other negative aspects which are misleading in the description are: Wifi is very poor, room is too small for queen size bed (the balcony door hit the bed, bedside table furniture missing on the balcony side of the bed, balcony without privacy separators, fish smell on staircase at the day of our arrival very scarce breakfast (the day at our checkout and departure). During the breakfast, waiting in line for somebody to slice cheese and ham, waiting in line for somebody to prepare eggs. (Nobody there for the 20 minutes we took breakfast). It seems that Sea Lion Hotel retained the Covid 19 restrictions which benefit their side and limit tourists services, fitness and Spa are out of work, but they marketed it as they offer these sevices. This hotel is a 3 hotel at best, not as it is listed, as a 4 hotel with a rate of 190 euro/night!!! Of course, they don't want to reimburse the money. Ho trovato per caso questo B&B cercando su Google, incuriosita dalle ottime recensioni e dalle camere ho contattato Tony. Ho trovato subito, durante la chiamata, una persona deliziosa, gentilissima e cortese che ci ha ospitato nella sua struttura. Per noi è stato l’appoggio per una sola notte (come tappa di rientro dalla vacanze) ma se fossi stata prima a conoscenza del posto non avrei avuto dubbi sul risceglierlo. Tony ci ha aspettati e accolti nonostante fosse ora di cena, e anche durante il tragitto per Pescara è stato molto carino nel chiederci come stesse andando il viaggio. Camera super pulita, arredata in maniera impeccabile, con tutti i confort del caso (per dire, in camera c’era una ciotolina con delle caramelle). Lo spazio colazione ricco di tantissimi cibi dolci e salati (insieme a macchinetta del caffè e a utensili vari) è sempre accessibile durante il giorno. Tony ci ha anche fornito indicazioni su dove andare a cena, dove parcheggiare ecc… insomma un’host impeccabile. È stato davvero un piacere soggiornare qui! Grazie!

GGuest UserGood location and stylish decor. Function is another story though. There are two elevators which are both tiny and carry only two people with luggage. We stayed three nights while traveling with a group, in two different rooms (the first night in a double room, even though we had booked a twin; the hotel claimed they had no other rooms available). The double room was extremely small, while the twin room was slightly more spacious. Even though by definition both rooms slept two people, they both had space for only one suitcase and had only one chair. The first room had no desk at all, with one of the nightstands doubling as desk. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The AC took quite some time to cool the room and was very difficult to adjust. Lack of attention to maintenance was obvious: burned light bulb, loose (or detaching) handles and knobs. Bathroom with no convenient shelf space (unless you want to count the shelf under the sink), no hooks and ho place to hang/place clothes or toiletries. The first room had very slow draining sink and shower. The water was extremely soft and very difficult to rinse. Wifi worked well. Breakfast had a decent selection. The problem was the constant lack of bowls, glasses and utensils. The staff would bring them out 4-5 at a time upon request, and of course they were gone within a couple of minutes.

GGuest UserFelisia and her husband are lovely people and seem to do anything to help you and make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room was a good size and clean. We had to come back early and I was told I needed to physically print my boarding passes instead of being able to use them on my phone, I messaged felisia to ask if she could print them for me and she did which was very kind of her. If I messaged her about anything she gave a very quick reply and tried her very best to help. The private bathroom was directly opposite the room and was spacious and clean.

I was worried when I read the reviews regarding this hotel, However I think some people expect too much. Yes the Hotel does need some much needed maintenance but I believe in light of the recent pandemic it has like most of the world become a victim of circumstance. That being said and looking beyond the surface - this hotel has very welcoming polite staff, it was super clean and the room was spacious and the bed was comfy. it is ideally situated on the front with excellent access to bars, restaurants and shops. I would definately stay here again if I ever returned to Pescara. Thank you for our stay.
