Funky Guest House & Adventures

I both stayed at Funky Guest House and took a horse trek with them. Communication was wonderful! The hotel is super friendly and in a great location on the central square, lined with cafes and restaurants, yet relatively quiet. A group of us were transported out to the country side of the Vjosa River valley and saddled up, according to our skill (or lack of skill) level. The ride was through stunning scenery and we were provided with videos and photos that same day.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Helpful and generous hosts. It was very convenient to arrive and be able to book rafting for the following morning with minimal fuss. Avenir, the owner, has perfect English. Great value. Highly recommended.

Great guesthouse that did everything we needed and more. The owner has spent some time in the UK and speaks English as a uk national. The rooms are clean and functional, and a great price. There is a nice terrace on the 1st floor overlooking the town square, and drinks are available from the ground floor bar, beer is a steal at 200 lek for a 500ml bottle. There is no food served here, so nibbles have to be brought from outside. Breakfast was a simple buffet but more than adequate- the fig jam being worth seeking out. The owner avenir also runs the funky adventures horsing and can arrange trips with the various rafting companies in town. We booked direct with a different rafting company but it would have been easier to book through Avenir. The horse riding starts early in the hot summer for the sake of the horses, we left at 08:30 to drive to the ranch. It was a wonderful experience. The only thing to note is you need cash, they don’t take cars, however the Tirana bank is just over the square which gave us the lowest rates / charges of any of the banks in Albania.

My stay with Funky Guest House in the city of Përmet was incredible! Avenir was a great host and made me feel right at home. He had lots of great suggestions for things to do, and offered me transport to and from the natural thermal baths nearby. The staff are very kind and hospitable, and the accommodations are great, with comfy beds, nice showers, and a cozy feel. The location is beautiful and I would definitely suggest doing one of the outdoor activities that Funky Guest House offers. I did the half-day horse trek, and it was a great way to see the valley and a great deal for the price. Përmet is also a great city for solo female travelers, I felt completely safe during my stay and everyone I met was very helpful and kind. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The double room we were offerd was very spacious and air-conditioned. We had a private bathroom. We used Funky Guest House as a starting point of an excursion to Lengarica Canyon near Përmet. We also took part in an equistrian excursion organised by Funky, a unforgettable experience. Highly recommended

My husband and I recently stayed at the Funky Guest House in Permet—and thoroughly enjoyed the guest house and the town. We loved the location—right on the town square where we could observe the small town evening stroll—with families and friends gathering at night. The Guest House was very clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast included. We appreciated the efforts of our host—Avenir—to help us have a funky adventure—complete with a wonderful horse trek in the local Vjosa River Valley. Highly recommend Permet and the Funky Guest House for a fun, authentic Albanian experience.
