Residenza Decimina

Excellent location directly above the train station (not noisy) and a few blocks walk to the lake, shopping, restaurants, bars, the ferry etc. This lodging location is nearly brand new, very modern, with an excellent kitchen area, full refrigerator and other kitchen appliances, an outdoor patio right off the living room that has views of the lake, surrounding mountains, the activity at the train station, etc. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful at the last minute when our intended lodging location fell through. The cost here is also reasonable considering that you're at Lake Como with all of the amenities provided here. [There is not laundry.] I've stayed in Varenna before at Villa Monastero which is beautiful with its gardens and on-the-lake location. Residenze Decimina is a much more modern place, about the same walking distance to most of the places you'll visit in town, but at a much more reasonable cost. No gardens, of course, but still a very good option for a place to stay in the Varenna / Lake Como area. I would absolutely stay here again when I return.

My fiancé and I stayed here while visiting Lake Como to celebrate our engagement. Our experience was fantastic from the beginning of our stay. The host, Oscar, was very welcoming and attentive. We stayed in the studio which was very clean and tidy, and stocked with all the amenities you needed. The hot tub was amazing! We will be back!
