Seascape

I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was really clean and very quiet, and the contactless experience was a big bonus. Very happy with the location and the amenities, just a short distance from the Promenade. Definitely recommend and would go back!
The Lugger Inn

Sea view room, several windows with great views, simple breakfast provided (worth about 12 pounds), the food in the hotel restaurant is also good, there are many people every day, there is an Italian buffet on Friday (15.5 super cheap), a lot of dishes, just They are all very filling dishes, so they are cheap. You don’t have to worry about customers eating too much, but it is more than enough to try them all~

The Queens Hotel

Classic English hotel, my room was recently updated and clean; strange not to have daily cleaning service. Small Single room with sea view was expected and very cosy. Appreciate the soft, thick new carpet. Also the single armchair was well used to enjoy sitting by window for the view. Bathroom was brand new, modern and didn’t blend into environment which is a shame. The water from shower was either too hot or cold; also the shower head could not be fixed into the rail so needed holding up. Restaurant meal was very nice, service was especially friendly and attentive. I would stay again in the near future but remind other guests considering that this is a 3 star hotel so you should appreciate that this is meeting the expectations of this grading. Overall daily service at hotel reception was well appreciated and always greeted when passing . Well done and thank you to the hotel staff!
Rosalie Guest House
4.5/54 Reviews
I wouldn't recommend the Rosalie Guest house, especially given the stay for me and my husband was ghastly and the worst we've ever had! First off, weeks after Boris had reversed all Covid-19 restrictions, we received an email three days prior to our stay saying that the landlady would only admit guests, with a negative Covid test. We found ourselves using a precious day of our holiday to search for a Covid test, which isn't easy in the highest peak tourist season in Cornwall. The 30-minute test confirmed we were both negative. When we arrived, we were so tired and hadn't slept well and were already dreading our stay at Rosalie Guest house. The frosty landlady inspected the evidence and proceeded to take more of our time to explain a very strict set of house rules; masks should be worn at all times when outside the room, breakfasts must be ordered before 9pm the previous night on a tick-box menu, if we needed to leave the building there were several layers of security and so on. There had been nothing in the booking that it was dependant on guest taking Covid tests and none of the other guest houses/hotels on our stay had not demanded it. It was also clear in the advert that parking was provided for, however this turned out to be on a crowded street where we struggled to park the car. We were eventually shown up to our room where there was barely enough room to take our suitcases. Although clean, the room was shabby and dull with safety notices all over the small stand-alone wardrobe; imagine four walls and a bed, an undersized wardrobe and a tiny shower with no bath. We immediately felt depressed and thanked our lucky stars we were only there for one night. By the bed was a six-page plastic document containing yet more house rules and regulations. It didn't feel like a guest house at all, in fact we felt more like we were in a hospital or worse. In the morning there were two regimented breakfast shifts and no room for change. Having not slept well on the uncomfortable bed we were very tired. We sat on a table but were quickly moved, for fear that previous guests had been sat on that table! The young girl serving breakfast looked very stressed and she was wearing a PPE hospital style apron. We asked for coffee and when we didn't receive any after 15 minutes, I started to help myself. ”We're not allowed to let you touch anything!' she said apologetically.. We waited for what seemed like ages to be served and left the breakfast room at 9.47am where our order was wrong, my poached eggs were rock-hard and the 'Cumberland sausage' tasted like a factory produced mystery meat job made out of gristle and sawdust!. All guests had to vacate their rooms by 10am so no margin for relaxing. Don't these people know that they're ruining people's holidays by making us leave so early? Overall, this experience was underwhelming, over-priced and ultimately depressing; we only wished that the unwelcoming landlady had been even a little bit nice to us. Per
