First of all the “cottage” was a musty-smelling annex. The owners live next door, and had something to say about everything, namely our friends van on the driveway, but their dirty van there was fine! After refusing a slightly later checkout, the owner said the “housekeeper” had to come at 10am sharp, leaving us with wet washing to take on the train as the yard was in the shade. He then screamed at our friend who put it to dry on a public fence nothing to do with him. If that wasn’t bad enough, he screeched “I’m the owner’” at me from across the road and made the following outlandish accusations…. 1. “You left the place like a pig sty.” We certainly did not. It was spotless, however there was one small bag of rubbish left inside the kitchen waste bin as the outdoor skips were not clearly labeled. A woman, we assumed was the cleaner was shouting hysterically, then she started cackling like a Hyena. It was bizarre. We realised she took offense to a minor job of throwing a bag out because she was the wife! He actually leant towards me and said: “Do you see what I have to put up with?!” I suggested he get a new cleaner. She also blocked our friends van in. Very rude indeed. 2. He then accused us of booking for 2, and having 3 people sleep there. Goodness me! We paid for a 2 bed! Only two of us slept there, as I felt compelled to explain (personal snoring incident). Rude and nosey. Can you imagine if a family with kids stayed and they had actual cleaning to do? Whoooa. We’d never stay there again. They were not Cornish, and neither did they have even 1% of Cornish charm and hospitality. Despicable
