Family-friendly place and can cook our food and have full facilities. Car parking is very secure. In front of the hostel is a small watering channel that is amazing and can do a little walk.All the staff are very friendly especially restaurant staff. Plenty of kitchen space, dining space, and lounge area.

The accommodation was pleasant and clean, great location within walking distance of Penzance. However, our stay coincided with a group of high school students, and our room was situated next to the dining room and kitchen. This led to disruptive noise from doors slamming and conversations from as early as 4:30am, which unfortunately meant we had a disruptive night.

A new “safety feature” had been installed above our bunk. A bright green glowing light which stays on all night so you can see your way out in the case of a fire. This is madness and is sleep deprivation torture. Having used the Penzance hostel for some years we are never going again.

Good location not too far from town. But ….. we found this to be a very noisy hostel. Doors slamming, people shouting in corridors at all hours. Maybe we were unlucky but there were no staff around at night to deal with problem guests. The accommodation was very basic for the price you pay. The kitchen was too small for the number of people using it and was not cleaned regularly enough. Small dining room. WiFi not great. Overall a very disappointing stay - would never book again.

Fairly basic YHA with small clean rooms, comfortable lounge and cafe, good selection of beers. We stayed before travelling to Scilly Isles and - compared to hostel in the Scilly Isles and a hotel in Exeter, which were similar prices per night to the YHA - it just could not compare with either.

I was staying here as I was attending a family funeral and it was a great value bed for a couple of nights. I had left my usual shaving kit in Scotland but the staff happily sorted me out a little disposable one that was perfect. I had the continetal breakfast each morning and it was great! Coffee, criossant, museli etc. and the ladies serving were great. I have stayed in various hostels and this is certainly an excellent facility. I would book again without thinking twice!

Booked at the last minute. There was 7 of us, we had 2 bell tents. I have to say they were pretty good. Beds supplied with very comfy bedding which was fresh and spotlessly clean. Easy enough check in In the tent there is a small wood burner and you get a small pack of wood supplied (More kindling would help) But, once that fire had gone out, it was very cold. All in all very good The downside was the breakfast. Breakfast cost £10 each. Personally I found the whole experience a shambles! The guy who was serving was the most miserable person you could meet. He was awkward and quite frankly didn’t want to be there. Coffee ran out, milk ran out, no beans, 1 x egg, anaemic sausages, it was awful!! Had we not encountered him it would have been a 5/5 Replace him and we’ll definitely return!
