We stopped over in attractive Penrith and were lucky enough to book this hotel and their in-house restaurant. Don't be misled by the budget cost as the qualtity is way better. And the excellent breakfast was included. Friendly efficient welcome and check-in by the busy Anthony who also seems to run the bar and restaurant. Good room and spacious for a budget cost hotel with walk-in shower with door, not a horrible shower curtain. Bar and restaurant have a good atmosphere and the food (we had the sea-bass) is gastro-pub quality at reasonable prices. No wonder that non-residents also dine here. Pay and display parking hearby but the hotel does provide a one hour parking permit if you are lucky enough to find a space right outside as we did.

Brilliant evening meal for 24 members of our family. Staff were awesome, food was awesome I would thoroughly recommended this venue whether local or visiting the town, it has rooms so a bed if needed. Easy to find, parking opposite best fish and chips in the country.

Just had a delicious Sunday lunch here. Staff brilliant,food exceptional. Roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast and mashed potatoes. Not just the usual peas and carrots but a medley of roast veg ,red cabbage and mangetout and cabbage in a creamy sauce. Plenty of gravy too. If booking request that you are not at the table opposite the door. Each time door oppend blast of cold air hits you and your food. A bit noisy but otherwise a good lunch out. Great value for money.

We stayed here for two nights with breakfast and ate in the restaurant and it was just brilliant, the staff were very attentive especially Dan who made the best salted caramel martini, we had a lovely time and we will definitely return 10/10.

Stayed here for one night as a stopover close to M6 while driving en-route from Exmoor to Scotland. Room was comfortable with a decent bed and nice en-suite shower. Photos attached. Had an evening meal in the bar/brasserie down stairs and also breakfast - both of which were fresh and nicely cooked. Access to rooms is via a series of rather labyrinthine internal stairs to one side of the property. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was there on a Friday night and through the noise was not from the Foundry 34 clients or diners, there was quite a lot of noise in the street and square outside from late night drinkers nearby. I enjoyed my stay. I thought the room price was perhaps a little over priced.

Nice hotel rooms very nice and clean, with air con with plenty of room. located in the centre of the town, staff friendly and helpful, parking is poor as you need to pay up till 6 o'clock, worth a visit and a stay.

I booked 2 nights b&b at a cost of £182 and was travelling to Penrith by train this morning. Due to the heatwave trains were cancelled so I was unable to travel to Penrith. I was aware of the cancellation policy for this booking but taking into account the unusual circumstances of weather making it impossible for people to travel, on ringing them I was told I would not receive a goodwill refund, either in full or in part, or a credit note for another time when we have normal weather. This is abysmal customer relations. I will be travelling to Penrith on a monthly basis going forward and under no circumstances would I book this b&b.
