Honestly the worst visit to a restaurant I have been to in a while. Table was booked at 10.15am we didn’t eat until 12pm. Poached eggs were just boiled eggs and food was cold. Wouldn’t return here. Waitress didn’t offer any money off bill ext for our poor experience

I would not give this pub one star! Service was poor. We had to wait 45 minutes for our starters, after having to chase them up, which consisted of three soups and one mussels with smoked bacon. The soups had obviously been ladled out some time before as there was a skin on top of them and they were not really edible. We made valiant efforts on two of them, but left half, but the third was totally inedible. The mussels with smoked bacon was slightly better, but the lardons were nothing but uncooked lumps of fat. All four toasted ciabattas were burned. The mains were of poor quality and were overpriced. All in all very disappointing as we have been here many times before. Naturally we will not be back again.

I took my young son for breakfast here for a treat, we waited an hour and 10 mins and still no food or an apology for the delay, we finally got up and walked out, as other people were also complaining about wrong orders and how long the food took to come to their tables, the place wasn't even busy, shocking experience, we will not be returning again and will pass this experience on to family and friends to avoid this place.

October 2024 Is there a change of ownership or a problem with the Littleton? Preparing to organise a family lunch for either Christmas Day or the following Saturday, I have spent four weeks .from time to time, trying to access a reply re menus and cost etc. I have tried two telephone calls, one leaving a msge that was not replied to, and four emails - I received one reply only that said '= it was hoped to have menus ready 'next week' - that was over three weeks ago.

We stayed here to attend a 50th birthday celebration in town. It was fine. This is actually a pub, and as long as you understand that you will know what you're getting and what you're getting will be good. We stayed in Room 3 which was a decent size, comfortable, well furnished and clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant before going to the party and breakfast the next morning. Dinner for one of us was the Littelton Burger which is a quality step above the burgers you'll find in most pub restaurants as well as being 8 ounces rather than 4. The other – me – had the steak and ale pie with buttered greens and pub chips and they were very good. With a complimentary large bottle of water and a glass of Chardonnay for one, the bill came to £38 which I thought was good value. Next morning, one of us had a bacon sandwich to take away and I had the full English breakfast (but hold the beans). Once again, good quality; the bacon was particularly good. Parking in the hotel car park was no problem, the welcome was friendly and efficient and so was the service all the time we were there. If we need to stay in Penkridge again, I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else.

Been twice recently for Sunday Lunch - once as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and once for my mum's birthday where there was 20 of us. Both times the food was gorgeous - generous portions of succulent pork and tender beef with delicious roast potatoes and veg. The service was wonderful both times. Our new fave spot for Sunday lunch. Delicious!

Arrived in the late evening where there was ample parking available. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who checked us in etc. This is where things went slightly downhill… When entering the room there was a musty smell, generally clean but dusty in places and damp on the wall… The shower was next to useless, cold and would not stay in place… With water going everywhere! Some music went on until late (possibly from another room) but we had a decent nights sleep. The breakfast options were very minimal with no cooked options available during the week… Items were available didn’t seem the freshest! Luckily we paid using Tesco Clubcard vouchers so didn’t pay full price… A lot of improvements required here!
