Loved this hotel on the gorgeous west coast of Wales, in Cardigan bay. Such friendly and attentive staff. Driving here can be a bit hairy in places , along single lane country roads but once you get here it is worth it. We ate in the hotel both nights and they moved people around for our reservation, as we were guests, and we had window seats over looking the beach. Such wonderful food, which i was so surprised about as it is a ‘pub chain brand’ inn/ hotel. Chefs definitely know what they are doing. On each side of Tresaith are coastal path walks to other stunning locations. Such a wonderful place to end our 6 days in beautiful Wales.

Booked online for Sunday lunch. Requested a window seat as it was our anniversary which we mentioned in the narrative on the booking, but were sat in the back in a dark corner which was a shame as there was no one at the window tables. Meal was a real let down. Beef had been sliced but was dry we felt it had been kept under lights. Carrot and parsnip were presented as full-length halves no sign of honey glaze and were so difficult to cut into. 'Roast potatoes' were barely crisped and undercooked so solid as well, too unpleasant to try to bite into. Very watery liquid on the plate described as a gravy. Several staff asked if the meal was ok to the point that it got annoying but floundered when told it wasn't and got flustered when we listed the issues. A couple on a table near us were heard to be making similar complaints about their meal as well.

Visited here three times while we were staying in Aberporth. It has a great outlook to the sea, was a fantastic place to have a pit stop mid-walk or saunter down for food. Has my fave Carlsberg lager and some good local ales. Had Halloumi flatbreads both food visits, just so nice, drizzled with a maple syrup, who knew!! Service was a bit slow as not many staff on but we were happy waiting, chilled on hols, the team was very friendly. One of our fave places to eat on our hols.

Went for dinner 1st November 2024. Really poor, partner asked for Sea Bass and I ordered the burger (£14). Take a look at the photo's....I haven't been served a burger like that since I was at school and the wife sea bass was paltry. The chips were cold, the coleslaw looked like it had been on the plate for a week and look at the single slice of Garlic bread they wanted to charge £4 for. We complained and the staff were perfectly nice and didn't charge us for the food but this place has gone down hill since the last time I went there a year ago...not sure whether its since Marston's took it over but very poor food may as well have gone to Wetherspoons!!

Good points, Table available to sit for drinks. Location is stunning, tables well laid out inside and ample outside seating for summer evenings. Facilities were as you would expect from a pub, being serviceable and clean. Good selection of drinks available and friendly bar service. Bad points, Car park. Very hard to get a space to park as handful of spaces. Waitress Service - By far the rudest waitress we have experienced in a long time. Young dark haired female can only be described as having shoved a tray of teas onto the opposing side of our table. Zero communication with recipients (I mean not a word) and leaving the tray with tea pots and cups etc. on the tray and more importantly out of reach of the very senior citizens she was ‘serving’ (term used loosely). Immediately turning away and leaving. She didn’t even check we had ordered it and it wasn’t even busy! Whole experience of quiet drink spoilt by this one employee. If this is representative of customer service offered here, I cannot recommend the establishment. You will not feel valued as a customer.

We stayed in this fantastic location over looking the beach for three days. Despite the bad parking problems the staff always made sure we had a place to park right at the front of the hotel. The cooked breakfast and Sunday lunch we had were great and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Although they were extremely busy they were polite and helpful especially Dylan. The place needs a face lift though our bedroom was clean and spacious overlooking the beach. Fabulous views!

The views and surroundings save this place from worse reviews. The staff seem like they want to be anywhere else. The food is absolutely terrible despite having what looks like a great menu. It is standard churned out fodder that is overpriced and made by a chef who seems like they have lost all hope! Thank god the draught beer is decent. The stars are for the beer and the view and absolutely nothing to do do with the staff, management or food.

Just back from 3 nights at the Shipp Inn. All staff were very friendly, helpful and polite and nothing was to much trouble. We had 3 meals here and can only say that the food was very good, however there were issues around availability of some items on the menu each evening. The accommodation is in need of a little attention although it was very comfortable and adequate. Would recommend and will visit again if in the area.
